Should I have said "Genderless" in our -Newspeak- language, brought to us by our local neighborhood socialists?

Oh wait, I forgot, was it the "Framers" or our "Founding Fathers?"

Today it's no longer BC and AD. Now it's BCE and CE ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Era ) Remove GOD, for Gods sake don’t let him in the equation!

Have you ever tried reading anything with “he/she” in every second sentence?

Notice the effort to replace anything ending in “man” with “person”. Yes, your children should learn about the “Person in the moon.” Of course he/she can study Womyn studies or Herstory at college today as well.

Look at what “business attire” is for women. Murphy Brown, need I say more? Shoulder padding and a he/she suit!

The DoD is on the leading edge of this agenda! Issues with women in combat are covered up and not voluntarily disclosed. Quotas for employment, promotion etc exist but have been renamed “goals”, since the word “quota” lost favor a few years ago. We insure EVERY poster has a good spread of “diversity” in it. You know who used to push this in the past? Yea, the USSR who told us they were all one big happy nation, Chechens and all! They advertised that THEY had the first women in space, the first woman in this and that.

Really- our society in all aspects is moving into a direction that is very sexless, Godless and yes, even tasteless.

I disagree personally. You have people who are working on the taxpayers dollar preaching a single religion to other people who are working on tax payer dollars. In my mind that's establishment even if it's minor compared to forced adherence to a religion.

I don't want to pay for your religion anymore than I want to pay for your big screen tv, simple as that.

The Bible isn't written to be the "law of the land" any more than it is a book of systematic theology. It gives guidance and principles, but to apply them you gotta do your own homework. ( After all, none of us are living in the ancient Israeli amphictyony, and we can't reproduce it today anyway. ) Every historical development entailed developments in the law. The underlying principles stayed the same, and, in fact, became clearer as time went on.

Muslim law does not make such allowances. What you see is exactly what you get. No interpretation, no appeal, nothing but the "letter of the law."

Chaplains: My blunt interpretation of them.

1. Wear rank, get an OER by the chain of command and have a "Systems sense."
2. Get a good paycheck compared to the outside. Chaplains are one of the few exceptions where in the DoD a job pays better than its civilian counterparts. Point is, a lot of the Chaplain Corps is not serving God.

3. Have passive and subordinate demeanor for the most part. They follow the “guidelines” imposed on them. “Can’t we all get along?” It’s in their nature.

It’s not the people; it’s the design of the chaplaincy in the Army that seems to be flawed from a perspective of serving God and the people. If all you want is someone prodding people along telling them it’s morally right to do something, then we have a great system.

Always remember- It’s the “Commanders religious program” as per AR.

Then reprimand the people in question. Don't force everyone else to suffer as a result.

Moral Absolutes Ping.

Freedom Of Religion is quickly turning into Freedom From Religion, whether we want such "freedom" or no. The tiny minority who gets offended by any public reference to the Supreme Godhead gets to prevent the huge majority who are not only not offended, but welcome the reminder, from any religious expression. It is truly totalitarian and completely against the original intent of the Bill of Rights.

Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

Note: there's some contact info for those who want some homework.

Second note: Most people who believe in God don't mind hearing prayers even if the person praying is of a different religion or sect. God is God; there aren't competitors to the title.

You'd be ok with a Muslim cleric praying to Allah?

When mentioning monotheist religions, I mentally leave Islam out of the list.

Logically speaking

If
"freedom of religion" means freedom from religion
then
"freedom of the press" must mean freedom from the press
and
"freedom of speech" must mean freedom from speech

What would the ACLU think of freedom from the press and freedom from speech?

I used to be quite tolerant of Islam. I actually have two Korans which I tried to read some of years ago (for comparison, not for inspiration). Thick going, that's for sure. I didn't make much headway. Met a couple of Sufis (American converts...) and they seemed like okay people.

But the last several years, and learning a lot more about the history of Islam, has changed my opinion about TROP. Ever since its inception it's been pretty much loot, rape, kill, burn, slice, and enforced conversions.

So I leave it out of the equation.

Church becomes ground zero for gay-vs.-ex-gay showdown

Homosexual protesters picketed in front of a Boston church yesterday just as the morning service was ending, saying they were targeting the congregation because it is hosting a conference about leaving the "gay" lifestyle.

According to anti-homosexual group Article 8, about a dozen protesters lined the sidewalk outside Tremont Temple Baptist Church in downtown Boston shortly before noon.

The church plans to host the touring "Love Won Out" conference Oct. 29, and the local homosexual community has been protesting that fact ever since its announcement.

"Boston gay activists have decided that this is a message they don't want people to be able to hear," the organization said on its website.

Article 8 says the church has had a police officer stationed inside its front doors as a security precaution.

"This could happen to your church eventually," the group told supporters.

"Although the churchgoers were forewarned and advised to simply ignore the gays, it was still a chilling experience for many."

Article 8 says some churchgoers "politely but firmly" confronted the protesters.

Signs carried by the protesters said, "Homophobia Kills," "Cancel Love Won Out" and "Where is the Love?"

Sponsored by the Christian organization Focus on the Family, Love Won Out, according to its website, promotes "the truth that homosexuality is preventable and treatable – a message routinely silenced today. We want people to know that individuals don't have to be gay. That's why we've developed a one-day conference for those looking for answers on this often-divisive issue."

The conference includes talks by former homosexuals who discuss how they left the lifestyle.

Don't even try to twist it. We should be able to practice whatever religion we want in this country without being persecuted. That being said, our country has acknowledged God for some time now. But we don't MAKE people worship a certain way. What I meant by freedom FROM religion...no one can make the mention of God disappear from our society. And they shouldn't. We as Americans have that right to mention His name without someone trying to shut us up.
