Bush: Weak terror response led to 9/11

WASHINGTON, DC, United States (UPI) -- President Bush said withdrawing from Iraq would be a mistake that would embolden terrorists just as U.S. responses to other attacks led to 9/11 hijackings.
Speaking Thursday at the Pentagon after an update on the war on terror, Bush said a pullback would be seen as weakness and make the United States less safe.
'The terrorists saw our response to the hostage crisis in Iran, the bombings in the Marine barracks in Lebanon, the first World Trade Center attack, the killing of American soldiers in Somalia, the destruction of two U.S. embassies in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole,' Bush said. 'The terrorists concluded that we lacked the courage and character to defend ourselves and so they attacked us.'
It was the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, carried out by al-Qaida operatives, that led Bush to launch the war on terror with an attack on Afghanistan, where al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden had been given sanctuary. Bush links the fighting in Iraq with the war on terror.
The president said the plan is to follow a strategy of making political gains in the affected counties, while training local personnel to assume security operations.
Way to go President Bush!

It only took President Bush 4 1/2 years to even hint that Clinton was responsible for 9/11.
I know livers can grow new tissue. President Bush may be making medical history by proving a person can grow some backbone!

This encompasses Carter, Reagan and Clinton but if you look at it the majority were under Clinton. I'd say a dash of Truth from intended by him to be introduced to the fiction of media accounts, but clearly detailing the extent to which this happened under Clinton is a shot back.

This also made me wonder about Able Danger. If there is anything negative about the Bush administration that could come out in hearings, I doubt it would be nearly as bad as the Clintonistas involvement. Of course, the Left can take nothing and spin it into something. The Bush administration's actual take-over was delayed until well into January, by all of the recount brou-ha-ha, and Clintonista shenanigans.
Clinton has proven that he plans to attack and make everyone but he and Hillary be the bad guys. So, we may be hearing even more truth and facts to counter the onslaught of lies and to minimize any negatives. One can only hope!
I know a lot of people say it is unrealistic to hope that the Able Danger investigation will amount to anything. It could if certain people want it to, and I guess time will tell.
The Clinton attacks and the president speaking out like this may have nothing at all to do with possible Able Danger revelations. Regardless,at least, we now are seeing some of the lies countered with truth. I want them to say it LOUD and say it LONG.

What I kinda sorty thought our President was saying ( between the lines, that is ) went along these lines:
STOP PLAYING BLAME GAMES with our nation, STOP being a partisan hack and trying to divide this nation along party and racial lines... grow up and stop placing unwarranted blame and hurting our nation when we need to heal..
or else... I am gonna start placing a LOT OF FACTS on the public table that you do not want me to say. So far I have NOT acted like you have acted, but I am getting steamed. And am about to shove some facts where they rightfully need to stick. I can and WILL approach the American people with facts that I have kept quiet about until now....

Oh yes and the way he said it too. I read it as saying in your face clintin...you had many chances to do something about it but...you didn't and so they saw our weakeness and continued their attacks.
What he is saying now is this is MY watch and we're doing something about it. It was great. Check the stations or CSpan...they'll probably have it. I was so proud of him. He's too nice sometimes but would rather have him like that than the way the clintins are.

Well that would be great (except the Meyers appointment and the no money for the hurricanes.) Somehow I can't go along with that. People suffered and are going to suffer tremendously from both these storms. America has a heart and soul.
Yeah, but did he actually say "Look no further than that pasty ex-prez tootin' his horn right alongside my very own father"? No. He left it for us political junkies to discern from a mere implication. The MSMmies are still as stupid as ever and unless they hear fightin' words about their man BJ, it all goes out into the ether. Perhaps "I'm (dating) Paris Hiltonn" would've gotten their attention and then he could've told them what an Able, Danger(ous) man he is.
Preaching to the choir---telling this to the Pentagon---doesn't take guts. He needs to say it near one of those didn't-know-it-was-open mikes. Then the world will hear it.
This Able Danger inquiry must have the Clinton team on the ropes and W knows it. Is it possible the Clinton Legacy is in danger of being exposed for what it was?

Finally. I was wondering when he'd wake up and realize that comity only went so far, and that he didn't have to be reelected next term.
