Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

Has your wife been able to check her gas tank yet?
lol, what can i say...i'm dyslexic with metaphors....
No, its redundant.
"Dude, I'd take a 30 or 40 round carbine over a pistol or revolver"
You got that right. The primary function of a handgun is personal defense at close range. Your primary weapon is your rifle. I have both an HK-91 and an AR-15 and if I have to hump either one and the appropriate ammo in the bush for a significant distance, I will take the AR.
Personal preference is fine for the pistol range and plinking, but when it come to real life combat I will take a tried and true weapon every time.
Somewhere near Beaumont/Port Arthur area. In other words, near the NHC forecast track ;)
Whoa. Did you see the Kenner official who had all the supplies and tools for evacs in his garage busted on TV last night? It was must see video.
Is that an eyewall replacement cycle?
I come into agreement with you. PTL !
So be it....In Jesus Name.
Hey anyone! How long is this contraflow on 45 going to last? Anyone know? I have to go to work tomorrow!!!
Busy tracking back through the AF runs. They had to have taken that one on the way out of their SW-NE run; that's how it slipped past my notice.
Hi, there. Have you checked out the Jackson, MS NOAA special weather statement? They're warning that we may have power outages here again. Vicksburg is probably more likely to have them than Ridgeland. Anyway, we have a generator that we borrowed for Katrina and haven't returned yet. So, if your power goes off tomorrow, you and hubby are welcome at our place.
Not so good it has taken so long... she might not go through another before landfall. Still some warm waters to go through.
KPRC reporting the HOV from Highway 6 north now open also (why not earlier, don't know)
CNN- In Houston: "Thousands" of cars have run out of gas and are on Interstate 45. No tanker of gas has come (waiting hours)
Seriously, I pray for the safety and salvation of all involved, we are about to see mighty things once again...
'Is that an eyewall replacement cycle?'
Yes, nearing the end of one.
Thank goodness the kids are about grown so I can quit diving into that 2-ring inflatable pool!!
It didn't hurt much but it did leave head shape dents in the yard.
One was a head shaped dent in the concrete.
That one was shaped like my wife's head!!
Read Post 3033.
I think that is further south than before....
I think they werent anticipating much traffic from S Houston since they were supposed to be gone yesterday
