if people were paying attention and got on the HOV lanes...they are getting out pretty quick...the regular lanes are still crowded.

She's looking pretty healthy right now. She appears to be searching out the eddy vortex. Looks to me like some strengthening might happen later.

LOL!!

We also have a plan...

If the balloon ever goes up in Indy, it's load up, head 6 miles to a buddies house with a key to his gun safes(multiple), and then head out the farm roads to our families hometown of 900, about 50 miles away...

No place like home in a storm, no matter what caused it...

Father, all the elements of nature obey your command. Calm the storms and hurricanes that threaten us and turn our fear of your power into praise of your goodness. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

If this hurricane hits east of Galveston we will be lucky from an energy standpoint. Most refineries will be back up by the end of next week in all likelihood.

Between now and then gasoline is going to be in short supply in the Houston area, and the price will rise in the rest of the country.

The price won't matter for me. I can't get it at any price.

Just woke up to find out she's down to 145. Before I went to bed, she was at 175. I'd like to get my hopes up, but is she just going through eyewall replacement?

That's a 120 MPH breeze. How long will this buoy last?

Yes, and the one guy (local cop?) said "the Judge" wants it all wrapped up. [I think there's going to be many people left to fend for themselves.]

You can just hear the frustration. One guy just said "I'm losing it" because everyone (these are sick, infirm people, mind you, already picked up on buses) has to be screened before getting on planes.

Info referenced per Beaumont scanner.
