Well, not well away but the turn to the East definitely helps us. It's just unfortunate for those further East. However, if there is an upside.....East of Houston and into Southwest Louisiana is less populated so less people will be affected. Still gonna be a disaster for some.

You can count on that. Just read your post about the freeways being parking lots. They might just as well break out the tailgate parties and enjoy themselves. They will probably still be there this weekend.

At least Texas has some of the best highway systems in the country. Can you imagine some of our neighboring states being able to even handle it this well? In NM they'd be backed up to California! (No offense, any NM'ers here!)
