Bette Midler struck one of the few sour notes at last night's Madison Square Garden benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims when she made a joke about President Bush.
"I know George Bush. . . . I met him in the 1970s through his coke dealer," she said.
The crowd booed the not-so-divine Ms. M for the quip.
Note to hysteric moron Leftists. When you are at a charity fund raiser keep your idiotic political opinions to yourselves. When you use this charity event as yet another forum for yet another Bush bashing rant, 64 MILLION Bush votes snap their checkbooks closed and say "Screw YOU losers". There is a time and place for everything, this was neither.
"...She said worse things. I'm so disappointed in her...."
Another one checked off the list.
She's still alive?
One of Clintoon's big pals.
Good one!
Stupid skank.
One radio/tv report early this morning said the Organization behind the benefit activities got many calls from people wishing to withdraw their pledges, specifically due to Midler's commentary.
When will these Captain Ahab nutters hit bottom?
Seems an endless pit. They fall deeper and deeper and offer nothing but pathological hatred all the way down.
Keep talking Bette, Keep talking.
You serve us well.
(going thru tapes and DVD's making sure mrs. m isn't in there, checking songs,)
Don't want any trash in my house....don't buy movies, don't rent movies, don't go to movies, don't buy songs, don't listen to songs of people who think their are important like the scum of mrs. m. and baby babs, alan alda, alex balwdin, etc.
Ohhh...Maybe I missed that this was an edited soundbite.
Morning hosts on NYC radio station WPLJ were railing this morning about how her inappropriate tirade ruined the whole event.
You can hear a few boo's in the audio I heard. The cheers really drown out the boos though.
Reporters from the NY Daily News must have been in the audience and heard them. The NY Daily News loves Bette Midler and would not say she was booed if she wasn't. They must have been shocked to hear it.
LOL!
Big deal, W did some Coke.
Big deal, W did some Coke.
"Oh, well- scratch yet another one off the list"
If I boycotted every entertainer who said or did something stupid regarding politics my life would be almsot completely devoid of of movies and television. Which probably wouldn't be a huge loss now that I think of it.
Bette, Bette, Bette....you are sooooo trashy
