Before the Iraq war all we heard from our one party media was how we heartlessly abandonned the Iraqis after the Gulf War. How they were mercilessly slaughtered by Saddam's bravos.
The media wanted guarantees that we wouldn't abandon the Iraqis again. And, of course, constantly suggested that we would--and therefore the Iraqis should never support us.
