Harry Reid: Priscilla Owen Nomination Would Be "Poke in the Eye With Sharp Stick"
Washington Times | 9/21/05

Posted on 09/21/2005 5:41:24 AM PDT by linkinpunk

I just heard on the radio that Harry Reid was quoted in the Washington Times as saying that the nomination of any of the 10 fillibustered judges would be a "poke in the eye with a sharp stick."

This was seen as a warning for Bush not to nominate Priscilla Owen to the Supreme Court.

Not a problem. Nominate Janice Rodgers Brown.

Great minds think alike!

Perhaps Democrats need to learn how to defend themselves against a pointed stick.

But first-- The Loganberry!

Here's hoping Harry's new nickname is "Cyclops"!

When your enemy squeals the loudest, that's the course to take. A sharp stick in the eye!

That makes no sense. Roberts was not on a list of filibustered judges yet he will be voted down by the democrats.

Big mistake on the democrats part. They have signaled that they have no intention of ever voting yes on a Republican nominess. IMO, it leaves the door wide open for the President to nominate the most conservative of nominess.

You put your RIGHT STICK in,

You pull your RIGHT STICK out,

You do the HOKEY-POKEY,

And you wave it around and shout!

That's what it's all about!....................

The "Gang of 14" has already given their approval to Owen for Appeals Court. If she was acceptable to the 14 then, she ought to be acceptable to them now.

Too bad, Harry.

I wonder what Gumby's little horse friend is doing today? Perhaps he should pay the good Senator a little visit.

Reid's not voting for Roberts, demonstrates that there is no one Bush could nominate that he would accept.
