Already CAT 3 ???
Agree........most especially in situations such as this.
while folks in the path of Rita can learn from mistakes made from Katrina and information garnered from it - now is not the time to do anything other than provide information regarding states of emergency, evacs, evac routes, preparedness lists, etc - for their AREA, not what should have been done somewhere else 3 weeks ago or even last year.
sorry for the rant - I guess I need to get off the subject of the media right now - it's making me crazy.
LOL, Maybe it's not too late to add that to my hurricane stash!
ROFLMAO.......so do I.
But I positively do NOT have anything left from Y2K!
The danger here is wind; we are "nestled in the pines"--over forty tall ones. Water would not be a problem --we're at the top of a hill.
I've had a multi-battery/12DC/120volt AC convertor/solar-backup alternative power system for about 6 years now. Works well, but requires maintenance.
Won't power everything for ever, or most things for long periods, but it keeps appliances like the heater fan for the nat. gas furnace running in winter storms. Lights. Radios, etc.
We need a link, please. I am in the ordering mood!
to go blackanddecker.com---it's right there, a pic
pssst...links at top of thread have advisory updates...and they aren't in ALL CAPS.
Depending on the weather, the fumes can come into the house.
i don't know how to put a link sorry
If worse comes to worse go to the dollar store and buy some gallon rubber maid pitchers and fill your own. They may not freeze as well but at least it will be drinking water.
Thanks for the info--sure does sound as though the place is a bit marshy.
Cause you're smart? You've got our number? some combo of the 2? :)
Not to worry... Howlin will find the appliance. :)
