Tomorrow's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Pentagon's top-secret military intelligence unit known as Able Danger should be quite a show. Rep. Curt Weldon, who deserves most of the credit for bringing the formerly forgotten unit to public attention, is promising as much with a list of potential witnesses who he says will be able to testify that Able Danger identified ringleader Mohamed Atta and several other terrorists inside the United States at least a year before the September 11 attacks.

BIG BUMP!!!
Let the games begin!
Some day the truth will all be known about the Clinton administration.
I'm still waiting on the IRS investigations initiated by their administration against their foes. It was rumored to be included in the Cisneros special prosecutor's report. I thought it was due out this summer.
"Although it is far too soon to conclude that this is a major scandal... "
What would it take, then?
"Some day the truth will all be known about the Clinton administration."
Maybe. Depends who ultimately wins the struggle for America. Do you think we know the real story of Lenin's early life? I don't. I believe vital facts were simply "erased" (including some people.)
As far as I can tell there's NO C-SPAN coverage, will anybody else cover it?
Isn't that the truth!
I give Weldon credit for shedding some light on it, but the only way it gets done is constant pressure from folks like us.I also give some credit to the Washington Times for not ignoring the story.
clee,do you know if the hearings are being televised?
Not that anyone really cares what that putz Jpod thinks, but here's his little blob/blurb/ whatever on Weldon at NRO:
OK, CURT WELDON JUST LOST ME [John Podhoretz]
Republican Rep. Curt Weldon has been pushing the "Able Danger" story -- alleging a Pentagon program identified Mohammed Atta and three other hijackers more than a year before 9/11. But he hasn't always been coherent or made sense, and some people have suggested he's more than a little flaky. Well, now he's proved he's a flake or worse. He will be appearing at a Congressional Black Caucus event this weekend whose purpose is to attack the 9/11 commission from the left, sponsored by Cynthia McKinney -- who of course said George Bush was behind 9/11:
"On September 23 and 24, Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), a member of the Congressional Black Caucus will host two brain trust panels at their annual legislative conference to be held at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mr. Vernon Avenue, NW, Washington, DC on the topic of what was omitted from the 9/11 Commissions Final Report, unanswered questions that remain and their inadequate recommendations which have failed to make the country safer, to address the true sponsors and causes of the attacks and to properly balance civil liberties and secrecy, security and war. The event is free and open to the public. Members of Congress, academicians and authors will present information on the road that led to 9/11, the response that followed, and the unexamined evidence and assumptions that framed the official report. Speakers will include John Cooley (author of Unholy Wars). C. William Michaels (author of No Greater Threat), Richard Falk (author of The Great Terror War), David Ray Griffin (author of 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions), Barbara Rosenberg (molecular biologist), James Bamford (author of A Pretext for War), Rep. Curt Weldon (on Able Danger), Benjamin Barber (author of Fear's Empire), Natsu Saito (author of Confronting the Crime of Silence), Athan Theoharis (author of The FBI and American Security) and James Ridgeway (author of 5 Unanswered Questions About 9/11)."
Weldon discredits himself by keeping himself in such company (though I have to acknowledge that as a teenager, I babysat for Benjamin Barber, who then returned the favor by writing a book in which he attacked my mother and misspelled her name throughout).
Don't know for sure, but I'd just about bet on it.
CSPAN, CNN, FxN - somebody will carry it.
C-SPAN is good for live Senate and House action, but it seems like a large majority of the rest of their stuff leans to the left.
I wonder what she is doing at a Kook Konvention on 9/11. Surely she doesn't suspect a connection between her "rogue scientist" and "international terrorism"...
Only blogs like this one.
"..The hearing on Able Danger and Intelligence Information Sharing scheduled by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 226 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building has been rescheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. .."
Bush has a biblical precedent for covering up for Clinton.
Saul spared Agag!
I would be amazed if anything comes of that IRS thing unless the results are used when the next Dem gets elected.
This explains Clinton's viscious attack on the President. Big problem for Billy Bob is that the President might "open the books" on the Clinton era, if Billy Bob keeps running his mouth.
