Site news release ^ | 09/19/2005 | self

Teachers, Parents, Students, Homeschoolers, Citizens--

This Wednesday 9/21 is See You At The Pole day, people all across the country are meeting at school flagpoles before school for prayer. A great way for teachers, parents and students to connect and encourage one another on campus....home schoolers, please also help defend and protect your rights on taxpayer-owned land by showing up!

See You at the Pole is a student-initiated and student-led movement that started in the Ft. Worth suburb of Burleson, Texas, in 1990. Everything necessary for students to plan and promote a successful SYATP is available free at http://www.syatp.com.

In 2004, more than 2 million teenagers met for See You at the Pole in all 50 states. Internationally, reports came in from countries on six continents, including Congo, Bahamas, Germany, Ghana, Guam, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, and South Africa.

Usually 30-45 minutes before 1st period. While students are arriving is ideal.

"We do this every Friday at our school."

GREAT idea. That's the way to get connected and STAY on the radar instead of being one single 'blip' ...

I think it's legally impregnable.

Watch out for those with raging hormones though. :<>

We do this every Friday at our school.

Cool. That's great. I have read some great stories of some clergy who really try to make a difference. I have the utmost respect for them as a teacher.

All it takes is several people to stand in a circular fashion around the flagpole, not during school hours. No Bibles needed. Just show up. If asked for ID, explain your purpose nicely and be sure you're off campus before the start of school. (even though public schools are OWNED by taxpayers...) A reading of the First Amendment is one thing that can focus the group.

The importance of connecting patriotic, God-fearing students, parents and teachers on campus is enormous--like God told Elisha while he was in hiding, SEVEN THOUSAND HAVE NOT BENT THE KNEE. We are not alone!

We must peaceably assemble. Evildoers don't want this, as we can set 10,000 to flight when prayerfully assembled.

If you ARE hassled, get names and titles. Contact Pacific Justice Institute, link in original post.

Thanks for getting the word out! I attend a school in Texas and we're the longest running private organization to participate in See-You-at-the-Pole. We had tremendous success and the media covered schools all in our area!
