I wish these media people would realize that creating controversy and conflict to generate interest in their "news" is destructive to a community -- a net negative, and it would be more productive if they were all laid off for the rest of their lives than that they should continue to create the divisiveness in society -- as entertainment for the perverse and dysfunctional.

If there are no problems, the media has to create them to justify their own existence -- which has long been made obsolete by better means of communicating information. Now the newspapers have to perpetuate misinformation, disinformation and ignorance to maintain an audience.

But if the people buy into the gas caps the newspapers were promoting, I guess they have a lot more money to throw away on newspaper subscriptions. The unions will get it back for them; they are the newspapers biggest advertisers -- as well as information sources.

Since the poll did not come out as they wanted it to,
the results will be suppressed. After all, this is the Honolulu Star-Bulletin's (newspaper's) poll. That's just how it's done in Hawaii.

Is it any different in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Minneapolis, Washington, Seattle?

I didn't think so.

The newspapers, which have zero credibility now, are telling us the President's popularity has dipped below a majority. First they need to pull that Giant sequoia growing out of their own eye before they can see the mite in another's.

The Democrats and the MSM work together to maintain their power over the people in the blue states.

It may be many years before Hawaii wakes up politically. I'm still hopeful.

Thanks to all of you who voted.
We turned the poll upside down.
Who is most to blame for the failure to quickly respond to Hurricane Katrina's devastation of New Orleans?

FEMA 81 6.33 %
Governor of Louisiana 539 42.14 %
Mayor of New Orleans 383 29.95 %
President Bush 276 21.58 %

Total votes: 1279

Due to the time differance the votning will go on until the wee hours of the morning on thr East Coat.
Is there a way to bring it back up to the top of the page so we can get more votes?

The Star-Bulletin hasn't been credible for some years now. It's no accident that they lost half their readers before they were on the verge of shutting down. but all those practices of media manipulation and control have spread throughout the industry -- and fuels the growth of the electronic forums and publications.

That is the real significance of the present Information Revolution. It's not just about having nice ,new gadgets. It is the overthrow of the authoritarian control of the previous hierarchies as represented by the media, schools and universities. Most of the discoveries being made in the world at any time is going on beyond the walls and control of these institutions -- and we know that now.

The old media fancied themselves as a 4th branch of self-appointed government -- and with the waning of their influence, attack the branch strongest -- as those responsible for their decline. The fact is, being unionized, they can't remain competitive in the Information Revolution because of their rules to maintain their control just because that was the case in the past.

They're forced to compete as an information source with the best in the world now. The only way they think they can win is by lying, cheating and stealing. Coincidentally, that also seems to be the strategy of the Democrats and liberals. They have nothing going for them and will try to perpetuate the illusion of being in control and in power for as long as they are not laughed off the stage.

Until then, they will continue with the posturing and pretense -- never realizing that everybody is laughing behind their backs at the charade of these self-important people.

Never expect honor from a dishonorable person,
Never expect honesty from a dishonest person,
And you will never be disappointed or surprised.
