I wish these media people would realize that creating controversy and conflict to generate interest in their "news" is destructive to a community -- a net negative, and it would be more productive if they were all laid off for the rest of their lives than that they should continue to create the divisiveness in society -- as entertainment for the perverse and dysfunctional.

If there are no problems, the media has to create them to justify their own existence -- which has long been made obsolete by better means of communicating information. Now the newspapers have to perpetuate misinformation, disinformation and ignorance to maintain an audience.

But if the people buy into the gas caps the newspapers were promoting, I guess they have a lot more money to throw away on newspaper subscriptions. The unions will get it back for them; they are the newspapers biggest advertisers -- as well as information sources.
