The Star-Bulletin hasn't been credible for some years now. It's no accident that they lost half their readers before they were on the verge of shutting down. but all those practices of media manipulation and control have spread throughout the industry -- and fuels the growth of the electronic forums and publications.

That is the real significance of the present Information Revolution. It's not just about having nice ,new gadgets. It is the overthrow of the authoritarian control of the previous hierarchies as represented by the media, schools and universities. Most of the discoveries being made in the world at any time is going on beyond the walls and control of these institutions -- and we know that now.

The old media fancied themselves as a 4th branch of self-appointed government -- and with the waning of their influence, attack the branch strongest -- as those responsible for their decline. The fact is, being unionized, they can't remain competitive in the Information Revolution because of their rules to maintain their control just because that was the case in the past.

They're forced to compete as an information source with the best in the world now. The only way they think they can win is by lying, cheating and stealing. Coincidentally, that also seems to be the strategy of the Democrats and liberals. They have nothing going for them and will try to perpetuate the illusion of being in control and in power for as long as they are not laughed off the stage.

Until then, they will continue with the posturing and pretense -- never realizing that everybody is laughing behind their backs at the charade of these self-important people.
