You did??
Well, then, I trust you...I am going with your diagnosis!!1
Good night.
jeez....and all this time..I thought he did---
of course, I am not familiar with the geography in South Florida...so, I could be misunderstanding his location...which is HIGHLY likely!!!
good night ..... good night.
.......didn't want you to feel left out :)
Doc Frank says hold on...there partner...we've got sometime here...since Doc was with the NHC for 25 yrs and director lots of that time...I'll pay close attention to him. He talked about projection of the ridge moving eastward...not sure he thinks that will happen as fast as all that. So if I lived around CC or the KING RANCH...I'd keep my eyes on this one...in other words don't relax just yet...
The Keys were really torn up by the wind during Andrew, but there were a lot of Boats and Buildings that were swamped. It is not like NOLA because there is not that much land and there is Water on both sides. The waters will recede right back and be absorbed by the Ocean. It will make a mess, but they are used to that especially in the Conch Republic.
Tide levels always rise north, east in this case, of the eye. If she turns north as hard as some models predict, it could push back into Ponchatrain. Don't know how much, if any, rain they can handle and they would be on the "wet" side. Really don't think they are out of the woods yet. ;)
Is it still a full moon tonight? That also will make the tides higher than normal.
Yup but hopefully not a killer day, we are all making plans around here, looks like my spare car (bad tires and all) will be hitting the road weds or thurs, got a couple of employees that are carless. I will see to it that they all get out if NHC forecast holds. When I will hold up in a nice strong 3 story here for Rita.
Storm started moving faster too.
They showed them on local news. The hospital patients from Key West were loaded onto a huge cargo plane. Even though some of them were pretty ill, they seemed to enjoy the ride. Sebring's a quaint town.
I am thinking Mexico, based on water vapor. But I am always wrong. 3 days out NHC is very very good.
Interesting....Hwy. 1 is just one long bridge, looks like. I've been to Panama City and Fort Lauderdale....never knew much about the Keys. Thanks for the link.
Yes, today is full moon.
I find that it is SOP at the NHC and the NWS, the same detailed and advance warnings as always and still people do not heed the warnings.
3 weeks from possibly the worst natural disaster in our countries history and people are still going to "ride it out". Katrina went from a car 3 to cat 5 in about 24 hours. Rita could do the same which puts it at a cat 3 or high 2.
Maybe it is just me being from Dallas and not understanding such complicated things as 100mph winds and 5-10ft storm surge on an island thats is like 6 feet above sea level (I am not exactly sure on this but it cant be much above sea level, I have been there and it looked really flat to me.)
Go Cowboys!
Most people forget that 11 people died, an overpass collapsed, and a million were without electricity in Florida following it's little clash with baby Katrina.
Thanks for the map...does rodguy live NORTH of Seven Mile Bridge?
