" In a perfect world....there would be no reason to have FR...."

Are you kidding?! Then there would be no place where "conservatives" could do battle with "conservatives" ;'}

I favour the Vice President's suggestion someone at a lower level they would be more answerable and would have less of agenda and not be in a position to influence policy but then maybe I am bias

LOL

You continually show your political ignorance with remarks like this one. It's a fact of political life. Pick up a book, or get on any political website that discusses presidential polling. Internal WH polls have been going on since Eisenhower. Gallup has been polling since the 1930`s. Get yourself informed.

No Sir, claiming "Everyone knows" is logically indefensible as is making personal attacks on anyone who questions your accusations. What you have offered is proof of nothing. You are making an accusation, the burden of proof is on you not on those you accuse. So source to back up your accusation against President Bush being poll driven?

Only liberals think big government makes good policy on all issues. From your remarks, you obviously believe that the federal government does a great job. I think you're on the wrong website.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Do me a favor. Keep asking "Reagan Man" what Bush should be doing. What the solution is. He is long on personal attacks and way short on any answers. His debating tactics are those commonly found on the Hysteric Left web-boards. Attack everyone, defend nothing. I spent a good part of Friday seeing him post this same nonsense over and over and over everywhere here on Free Republic. His desperate zeal in attacking Bush raises suspicions in my mind about his motivations.

Have to admit, I don't like BOR. He's a selfserving jerk and talks over his guests, as though we care what old Bill thinks. Having said that, we still catch parts of his show and will watch if he's nailing someone on the left just for grins.

I continue to wish Bush would veto something just to say stop to congress, but it appears he's willing to let congress decide spending amounts and most programs; so it's up to voters to make congress more conservative in the future. As of now, no Republican in congress can claim Bush hurt their reelection chances by stopping one of their pet projects.

His staff can't control Biden -- that's Biden's biggest problem. They know he's a loose cannon and can only hope he doesn't damage himself too much. LOL. They all know Biden
doesn't know when to SHUT UP!

I would love to see a post from you that was not bash Bush, it would be unusual and mighty refreshing. I loved Ronald Reagan, but most of us do not have blinders on that he never did anything wrong. He was a great President, and unfortunately in your mind he may be surpassed by GWB. Ronald Reagan never had 24-7 Cable News stations cycles attacking him, and he had a gift in his oratory abilities. He had a lot of crisis situations but really compared to GWB. Many of us disagree with GWB on a few matters, but we are not about to sound like DU with harsh criticism, and sometimes when we think he is maybe making a mistake we may pause, but do not post nasty reactionary rhetoric. We let it play out and for the most part GWB has been right.

Personal attacks are not answers. Please provide proof to back up your accusations against President Bush program for Hurricane Reconstruction being poll driven. Next time you duck by making another personal attack, I am going to bring your conduct to the Free Republic Moderators attention. Answer the question.

Had a conversation with a friend at church this morning...She made the statement how religious the AA people are and that the churches in Texas who had reached out to them did more than any law to remove any race barriers that might exist.....The Body of Christ at its finest...."I had a Dream" becomes more real everyday.

We have found in the UK that Housing Associations (sometimes a private organisation sometimes partly local council) sometimes work where the person owns 50% of the property but is basically responsible for insurance, council tax, heating, water services etc etc. Over time they can as their finances improve buy the remainder of the property.

In my area it is aimed at low income households but in the London area where property is so expensive it aimed at people they wish to keep in the area such as council workers including teachers, refuge workers and police officers etc etc.

You can't have it both ways.

Either the Republican Party is the conservative party and it follows a policy agenda that limits the size and scope of government or it doesn't. In the last 4-1/2 years we have witnessed an expansion of the welfare and entitlement state not seen in our history. We have a federal bureacracy out of control. The President and the GOP controlled Congress are responsible for this agenda becoming law. Either we hold our elected leaders feet to the fire, or we continue allowing them to get away with anything. For conservatives, the latter isn't an option.

Rush rarely fails to see the big picture. He had a fabulous show Friday.

After I heard Laura Ingraham's ranting and raving (and I like her) I was almost afraid to listen to Rush, but he came through big time.

I do not think so he supported Bobby Jindal against Blanco and he supported GWB, he was a Pubbie that changed to Dem because he would have lost as a pubbie. Word is from freepers in NOLA that he was supposed to be cleaning up the crime and corruption in the city before the Hurricane hit. He has gone over the edge though as they all seem to have done.
