He's called Bill Clinton ''a traitor" and Al Gore ''Al Whore," but until now, Jay Severin's radio audience has been largely limited to Boston. That will change in January. Today Infinity Broadcasting will announce that it has signed the sharp-tongued former political consultant to do a radio show in a series of syndicated markets beginning next year.

Jay is a fraud who has embellished his resume....
He looks like a rabid right winger in Boston but that doesn't take much
I stopped listening to Jay back during the 2004 election cycle.
His incessant negativism about Bush losing really got on my nerves, as did his harping about his 20 years of professional political consulting experience which gave him great insight into the probable outcome.
Then his constant ragging on Bush for the war in Iraq. He's mad because he thinks we just should have nuked Iraq rather than lose one soldier, and that at least we should have left after Saddam was deposed.
Too bad, because he is extraordinarily articulate, and can be quite witty. He would be a joy to listen to if he weren't such a pill.
Jay's favorite color is brown. That's probably because his head is so far up his butt, that's the only color around. But I guess the Infinity Broadcasting people have money to throw away.
I haven't listened much to Severin lately nor radio in general. These days, its all satellite radio and podcasts.
In fact, if anybody out there subscribes to Adam Curry's "Daily Source Code,", Adam sounds an awful lot like Jay Severin. That is, with respect to voice and speaking style, not politics.
He also changed his name from Jimmy Severino to Jay Severin. He was still Jimmy when I knew him at Vassar in the 1970's. I wonder if he would own up to that now. He was not a preppy, ( he was just a townie from Poughkeepsie, NY) but always pretended he was. He was obsessed with preppies and if you weren't, he didn't want anything to do with you.
No Jay Severin for me, thanks just the same. Jay's annoying, a martini bar kind of guy.
Howie Carr knows Boston's politicians and hoodlums (often one and the same). He actually broadcasts from Boston, unlike Jay. Howie is a regular guy, no pretensions. And very funny.
Michael Savage in drag. Just my opinion.
Me too! I had only started listening to him in June of 2004 but between the Bush-bashing and the Iraq War bashing, I couldn't stand listening to him anymore...
When he was on in NYC a whileback..I'd switch over during one of Hannity's 7 minute commerical breaks..Jay is good, but when he starts going on about his darn dogs...
he was just a townie from Poughkeepsie, NY
Boy, this just reeks.
Jay broadcasts from the Boston area too. He is always doing live broadcasts from local restaurants and bars.
That's easy when they consider Mike Barnicle, the plagiarist, a moderate.
I'm willing to bet Jay won't play in the heartland.
He comes across as an arrogant twit who gets all superior-acting, nasty, and sarcastic when people disagree with him.
Also, that "thank you" bit to those who serve(d) in the armed forces comes across as self-centered, like they're doing it for him.
He lost me when Jeannie Garafaolo (?) lost her show for vociferous disagreement with partial birth abortion, and his statements were that it's his job to do his thing and not to stick his neck out for others.
Ya know, it really wouldn't matter where he does his broadcasts. He'd still s*ck. I couldn't get past his "I'm such a stud" routine.
Didn't this guy use to be on in the New Jersey/New York Area? Maybe on WOR?
I'm also a Howie fan and I heard the snide comments about Jay today but didn't realize until reading a post to today's Howie Carr thread that it was about Jay. It's pretty funny.
> He comes across as an arrogant twit who gets all superior-acting, nasty, and sarcastic when people disagree with him.
Superior-acting and nasty is absolutely right. Severin, in his effort to whore himself to a national market, tried come across as an independent thinker who wasn't afraid to trash the President. But when it turned out he wasn't the next David Brudnoy, he stuck to what he does best...sarcastically trashing anyone who disagrees with him.
Adios.
