Look, like it or not, an American city has been almost totally destroyed. Fixing it will not be free. It is going to cost money, and some of you folks look really silly complaining about the spending. The reality is that this is going to cost all of us big time. Get over it.

Are you listening to the speech?
He's talking about CHARITIES and CHURCHES and BUSINESS.
What's wrong with you people?
To: tomahawk
That sound you're hearing is the Republican and conservative base giving up on Pres. Bush. He has abandoned our priciples.I am the base.
And nobody here believes you ever supported him in the first place. Ever.

Go away..please.
I've been here many years and I've never been asked that before. The answer is NO by the way.
It's stupid to build cities in holes surrounded by water. And there is no way New Orleans can be rebuilt at an elevation that protects property from flooding in a sensible manner. You may not like that but that's the way it is.
The American taxpayer should not subsidize flood insurance in areas that have a 100% chance of flooding.

He's appealing to the private sector too. This is NOT just a big government undertaking.Agreed. An interesting mix of private and public responses.
Could be a way to carve into the poverty mindset and divide the poverty industry.

What the hell does that mean? I'll tell you what it means. Give my money to everybody else. More like STEAL my money, my children's money and my grandchildren's money. Bush is treating this like reparations without the nationwide impact. He's swallowed whole the idea "racism" is why the people in New Orleans have so many impoverished persons. This speech is a *mess* and it won't do ONE GOOD THING to improve 'race relations'. He's pandering. Pandering!!
