All humor aside you make a very good point here.
I see a lot of posters vilifying the poor. Calling them welfare queens ect. Have any of these people here actually BEEN poor or on welfare? Does anyone know how hard it really is to get OFF welfare and stay off? Does anyone realize that there really ARE some people out there that need the help?
IMHO there need to be more programs to help people get off welfare, stay off welfare, and own their own homes/businesses.

It is, on it's face, a completely unfair comparison. Ronald Reagan would have spent money to defend us against an enemy that killed American citizens on American soil.

Also, there are few, if any countries on the African Continent today where blacks can do better than they can in this country.

Hundreds of thousands more die of Aids.
Half a million died in Rwanda while Clinton turned away.
Millions have died from Famine and disease.
They were oppressed under Apartheid in South Africa for generations.
Everybody has a better chance to make in the United States of America than in any other country in the world

There is a strong and burgeoning Black Conservative movement underway in this country. Herman Cain comes to mind and a group called "the Group of 21' I think.
Reagan, fortunately, faced an enemy that never fired a shot, and folded like a bad poker hand. President Bush faces an philosophical enemy that wants to kill all of us, whether that philosophy involves killing themselves and their followers at the same time.
