Why did none of these people have flood insurance?
This is the part that really p*sses me off. We own property near a river which usually has about 2 inches of water in it, yet we are required to pay over $1500 a year for flood insurance.
It did come in handy a few years back when we suffered a 100 year flood. Right after that, the city fixed the problem with the river and we aren't expected to flood again.
I guess i should go to FEMA and ask them to remove that flood insurance requirement.

I think Tim may have engineered those "drastically low" poll numbers too. He probably had the department poll and poll again until they came up with a poll he liked.
I used to think Tim was middle of the road. Now I think he permanently in the left lane with the left blinker blinking.

This president has to face a serious terrorist threat, incredible foreign policy challenges and a devastating natural catastrophy. And through it all he must suffer through the naysaying of Dems, race hustlers, poverty pimps and cranks. May God bless our President. He needs our prayers.

Just read the transcript and engage your brain, F16.
After you've done that, we can talk.

It was a good speech. I was touched to tears to the point of some wet eyes toward the end.. but I see a further erosion of federalism on the horizon. Not at all thrilled with some of the proposals either.
Still, I am honest enough to realize that anyone who held all of my beliefs probably wouldn't get more than 15 or 20% of the vote.. and I am being generous.
God speed to this President and this great land.

Good point.

The Fed has to step in in a big way, but let's have them do some feasibility studies on how best to remedy the situation before tossing hundreds of billlions of dollars haphazardly too quickly at the most incompetent and corrupt state state-run government in the land.Fair point.

I wish we wouldn't stereotype black people on this forum as all being on "welfare." Who is "we" Deacon?
YOu surely know that there is no "we" here. I resent your crypto racist post. Which is what it is.
You can take the low road or the high road here. You know that.

Well Jefferson was the first Republican president. Not a Democrat. At any rate his ideas before and after his presidency were better than his actions as a President. It's Jeffersonism that I agree with. I am not a kid. Back up a bit.

Detroit is filled with squaters in owner abandoned houses.
Detroit is a poor example. I live in the area and try to avoid it.
