Well Jefferson was the first Republican president. Not a Democrat. At any rate his ideas before and after his presidency were better than his actions as a President. It's Jeffersonism that I agree with. I am not a kid. Back up a bit.
Jefferson was a "Republican", but not of the Republican Party of today.

There was NO Republican Party in Jefferson's day. And Jefferson's policies weren't all that Conservative at all. Adams? YES! Jefferson? HELL NO ! And frankly, I wouldn't be so proud, if I were you, to call yourself a "Jeffersonian".
