I teared up when he talked about the Jazz funerals.....he set just the right tone and has ambitious plans to 'rebuild on higher ground'......but of course the Dims & MSM will find fault no matter what he said!

And he is going to put the Mayor and Governor in charge of some of this? These people should be jailed.
No. He isn't. He put the Inspector General in charge of overseeing the funds.

While I understand your sentiment, I have a question, and I'm not being sarcastic. Insurance??? What about insurance? I live in a hurricane zone and if I 'lost everything' my insurance would cover my replacing everything...or at the very least enough of my necessities that I wouldn't be looking for handouts. That's the part of this that I don't get.

"I'm still not sure how else he can pay for it. Perhaps cut spending elsewhere? Please."One suggestion may be to stop funding corrupt organizations such as the U.N., cut off aid to thug dictators, and allow business to eat some of the costs for tax incentives.

Ohio. How about southeast Ohio? lol

No matter how low his popularity numbers go, President Bush is always one good speech away from turning those numbers around. There are some media jerks out there tonight who are now terrified about that. Are you listening Fineman?

avoid local govt at all costI agree with that!

What is going to happen, is that Democratic control of Louisiana is effectively OVER. If the Democratic base moves back, they will show their appreciation at the polls. If they don't, the new folks moving in and finding new jobs will also show their appreciation at the polls.
I expect a massive Democratic negative response tomorrow along the lines of "Too little, too late", but if the folks I saw on ABC were any indication, Bush has knocked it out of the park tonight.
I will be passing out "I told you so's" tomorrow.

State senator Cleo Fields, D Louisiana, District 14 is an idiot! He just told Ted Koppell those people in New Orleans shouldn't have been taken out. We didn't have an evacuaation plan, but we need a plan to bring them back in, and he thinks October is a reasonable time to do it. Move them into unused millitary bases, they need to come back, he said.
(Mr. Cleo is thinking about the next election.)
