Take Action! Sign a Petition in Support of John Roberts

Sign the NRSC petition in support of President Bush's nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge John G. Roberts Jr. The extreme left-wing special interest groups like MoveOn.org and Alliance for Justice are working to smear Judge Roberts. They will say and do anything to prevent the confirmation of a commonsense, and strict constructionist judge to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In fact, their liberal allies in the Senate, Senator Dick Durbin and Senator Ted Kennedy are ready to do everything in their power to stop Judge Roberts' confirmation.

President Bush has challenged the U.S. Senate to "rise to the occasion," and "provide a dignified confirmation process that is conducted with fairness and civility." Click below to show your support for a dignified process with the respect and fairness that President Bush has requested. Please sign this petition and support the confirmation of Judge Roberts, and show where America's values stand.

To sign the petition, select a state:

Please - This is EASY. It takes less than 30 seconds to let BOTH of your Senators know you support 'civility' in hearings, and timely confirmation of Judge Roberts. Please lend your support. Let them know you CARE, and that you're WATCHING what they do!!! (...Because I KNOW you already are!)

I disagree.

I don't think they will "do anything" to stop the confirmation of Roberts.

Wait until the next nomination. That is when WWIII starts.

I concur. This nomination is a lock. The next one is going to be the tough fight.

Lucky you! I am stuck, thanks to "downstate NY" with the Chuckster and Cankles.

Signed and sent in the petition, though.

An appeal to "a dignified . . process . . . conducted with fairness and civility" directed to "Backstroke" Kennedy & Co.?
Sure, OK.
And I when I get home I'm looking forward to debating Mill's philosopy of 'rule' v. 'act' utilitarianism, as it relates to 19th century jurisprudence, with my yellow lab 'Skippy'. He's been reading John Austin so maybe he won't bite me this time.

I DO agree that the next one will be tougher. However if you think Kennedy, Leahy, Schumer, Durbin, the Berserkely Cabal, and all the rest of these poster-children for the left wouldn't obstruct Judge Roberts' confirmation if they thought, for even a moment, that the voters would let them get away with it, I think you're mistaken. (...and I'd bet Judge Miguel Estrada would fully concur with that assesment.)

...But that's just my opinion. Be well.

You really think it's necessary at this point?

The Democrat Party radicals will fold their tents and walk away on this one. He has so completly demolished the Senators on the Judiciary Committee they can't even get off the floor.

Democrats must realize also, that should they not confirm this man, he would be unbeatable if he ran for President instead.

...And I, for one, would be thrilled to have a PRESIDENT John Roberts.

Why vote on this? Roberts is a shoo in for SCJ....but you best bar the door on the next one, no matter who it is, there is going to be a war like you have never seen.

I will wager a bet that you see:

Name calling amongst each other in public; things being thrown at each other; threats; fist-fights;

If you don't have a channel to see this on, best get one, you want to know how to wage a war, watch this and you will learn!

And I will also bet that the pubbies will sit there and take it, just to show how stupid the libs are when they don't get their own way....

You can say THAT again...again... grin

You, and others here, may certainly be right about Roberts' confirmation being likely. On the other hand, since long term (in my view) BOTH these SCOTUS confirmations are arguably one of the most important things the Bush Administration will accomplish (for my kids, and THEIR kids) in its entire eight years, I am inclined to participate.

Neither of MY Senators, here on the Left Coast, will ever think of me as one of their 'constituents', but I want them to know, as they go into the NEXT set of confirmation hearings, that I am WATCHING. This seems to me to be a pretty easy way to let them know that.

Yes, the NEXT one will certainly be tougher, but this takes 30 seconds, so why not?

Please see #17... RE: "Name calling amongst each other in public; things being thrown at each other; threats; fist-fights;"

OKAY!   Can you get me two seats 'ringside' when Teddy, Leahy and Chuckie get the b***-whippings they so richly deserve???

RE: "And I will also bet that the pubbies will sit there and take it, just to show how stupid the libs are when they don't get their own way..."

Careful. The 'Pubbies, especially in the Senate, have a history of 'just sitting back and taking it' 'til they wake up and it's too late. I would much rather see them rolling up their sleeves, and getting ready for the coming fight...NOW! ...than wrongly assuming civility from the opposition, as they have so many times in the past, to our continuing detriment.

Thank you Ma'am.

If the Senate pubbies can somehow avoid snatching defeat from the jaws of victory this time, maybe they'll find out they really DO like winning, and manage to be a little more ready for the upcoming battle, on SC nominee number two, than they appear to have been for the last three to four...(...four or five?) years.

Regardless, I'd feel a whole lot better if Dole had the conn. I think she's an impressive lady.

Thank you mathluv! Roberts, then one more strict-constructionist on SCOTUS...

Now I'd certainly say THAT's a worthwhile and fitting legacy for Bush, if the Senate 'pubbies can manage to step up, and get it done for him.
