thanks..someone over at ConfirmThem.com (I think a troll) has posted that Roberts supported education for illegal aliens this morning, I think based on your posting, that was a stretch for hearing what they wanted.

Durbin wants him to be all emotional about cases. What's wrong with a man who just wants to follow the law?

Roberts statement on lawyers and the law should be required reading for every law school in America. Durbin represents the perversion of the law.

What really makes me mad is all they are doing is speech making. It's called filibustering IMO. They know he is going to be confirmed but they are making certain he does not until after Oct 1

That's really nice of you, but I'm at work. I don't think it'd be the same with the sound off. Plus, I'm supposed to be working. Yeah, that's going well. :)

Turban responds he wants to know if Roberts will expand freedom in America or not. That is the primary question.
Roberts - If the Constitution says the "little guy" should win he will win. If it says the "big guy" should win, he will win. My obligation is to the Constitution, not that he will be on any one side or another. I will uphold the Constitution. Equal justice under the law...

Durbin thinks the important question is whether he will restrict of expand freedom.
I want judges to DEFEND freedom, not restrict or expand them.
Durbin says fighting Colorado expanded freedom, even though it in fact took away the freedom of Coloradans NOT to have to support the gay and lesbian lifestyle.
Which is why judges should keep out of trying to "expand" freedom. Let the congress do that, because it can respond to competing groups.

Roberts KICKS ASS:
"If the Constitution says the "little guy" wins, then he wins. If the Constitution says the "big guy" wins, then he win. MY OBLIGATION IS TO THE CONSTITUTION."
Tough luck, Turban. Your class warfare world is dying, lawyer boy.

I have heard enough. Unless Roberts is a bald faced liar (which he isn't), he is the man for this job. I don't think there is anyone who would be better.

Oath is to abide by the laws of the constitution not which person hired him first or the side with the best resources.

He was very careful to differentiate the general concept from the legal issues of a specific case. He said he did not disagree with the general statement that all children should be educated, but he did not say the U.S. must educate illegals.
