Then six different panels of out- side witnesses deliver their views on the professional and personal suitability of John Roberts to be appointed Chief Justice of the United States. This testimony will take the entire day.

Great minds........ I had that exact same thought yesterday. HAH!
ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, I (we) needed that!
If Sprecter leaves the Senate then I shudder to think who Rendell would appoint. Since Rendell is from Philly he might help that city out by appointing Mayor Street to the Senate.
Was this a margin of safety against getting into trouble? ;-)
Hatch has a longer fuse, but we went after Schumer two years ago for asking Roberts what Hatch characterized as "Dumb Ass" questions. He's not a bully, but Hatch has a backbone and he's far more reliable then Specter. I hold my breath with Specter.
How can some of them operate with so much fear in the room? /sarcasm
Fienstine is going to end up voting for Roberts.... I think the dems are pulling back to have a better shot at the next nominee.
I remember THAT! Thanks for reminding us. Hatch did us proud that day.
You mean the "womyn" who looks like Fred Gwynne with a wig? Some activist from a "womyn's" Law Group. Rather creepy lady.
Is Swann running in PA for Governor or not? If he won, Specter could leave and Swann could appoint Toomey. LOL OK I am awake again now. :)
Oh, I do too -- it's just he's less, well, gentlemanly maybe? than too many Republicans. He'd be valuable if, as I said, he were reliably on our side.
Actually I am thoroughly enjoying the hearings much as I have enjoyed the past five years generally. Politically this has been a great period for us. After hearings for Bork, Kennedy, Souter, Thomas, Breyer, Ginsberg -- we actually have a great nominee that ripped up the 'Rat Senators (rather than the other way around). We've won two close Presidential elections and added Senate seats three cycles in a row. We still have the House. We ran Dan Rather off the set. Life is good.
Saw trhat..they probably were too embarassed to have him there..the "introductin" would have been a hoot..
This woman is no beauty -- poor thing -- no wonder her outlook is hostile to men.
Summarize your thoughts please --- (she's rambling...lol.
I keep reading about Swann running for PA governor.
Welcome back!

Did you hear her say she was expecting a much more conservative nominee than Roberts???
Don't worry hon'... that one's coming !!!
