Islamist terrorists organizing in Bosnia

Al-Qaida may have an intact terror network operating in the Balkans, German security officials say. Sources within Germany's Bundesnachrichsiendienst, or Federal Intelligence Service (BND) told the German news agency DDP that both the Madrid terrorists, and some of those who perpetrated the London bombings, had "contacts with Bosnia," DDP reported Monday. The BND sources told DDP that European intelligence services had "vague indications that another terror cell controlled from Bosnia is preparing a new attack on London".

Muslim terror targets Europe

Muslim terror groups have targeted Europe as "the domain of war", the EU's counter-terror chief has warned. "The trend is clear. As was already apparent in the Madrid attacks and the killing of the Dutch film maker Theo van Gogh, Europe has become both a target and a source of terrorism perpetrated in the name of Islam," Gijs de Vries, the European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator said in a speech he delivered earlier this week in Israel to the Institute for Counter-Terrorism's annual conference. "No longer is Europe only a base of support for attacks carried out elsewhere in the world. European societies have become an integral part of Dar al-Harb - the domain of war," de Vries said. "The threat to Europe emanates from Europe-based Islamist networks as well as increasingly from unaffiliated actors: groups and individuals acting independently but sharing a jihadist ideology," he said. "The risk of further attacks in Europe -- and on Europeans elsewhere in the world -- is real and will probably remain high for years to come," de Vries said.

It just doesn't make sense!

Your right, It just doesn't make sense unless your George Soros.

In an effort to help the process along, Mr. Berger announced the United States is making good on Mr. Clinton's pledge to set up a fund to promote new business development, expansion and privatization.

The 150-million dollar Southeast Europe Equity Fund will be financed by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and managed by a company run by American philanthropist and businessman George Soros.

The fund will serve Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Montenegro and Turkey - what the White House calls an emerging consumer market of 112 million people.

While acknowledging that the rebuilding effort has been slow in the region, and that ethnic tensions remain, National Security Advisor Berger says there has been some progress toward overcoming the legacy of war.

It all make perfect sense to me. Power Is the Greatest Aphrodisiac of Them All. I'm talking about Air Power, it's a wonderful thing. Without airpower you can't win wars.

Soros had American/Nato via Clinton and Burger. Solbo had no chance againt the western press and Nato.

No KLA Maybe No 9-11

that is what front line DC's are like, liljohn. What experience do you have in that capacity? Were you ever at an AA before? Did you ever serve in the military? No, the Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard does not count!

Obviously, you feel that all AA's should be the Marriott like facilities. Of course, conditions were atrocious, what would you expect them to be like?

Little left in doubt why I call you johhnyonthepotty, huhh? You think like a little kid on the potty, picking out the buggars.

Oh for Christ's sake....

Of course, conditions were atrocious, what would you expect them to be like?

Given the mentality I've seen from Balkan nationalists, I don't expect them to behave any better than they did. They're a bunch of animals! That doesn't mean I'm going to pretend they weren't wrong in beating, raping and executing one another.

Whatever. It's just funny at this point anyway.

Looks like Plan "B" it is. Ask someone that you consider to be smarter than you to explain it.

Buh bye banned Trollgirl.

Looks like were back down to the usual two slithering trolls that are allowed to ooze their slime on this site. Oh well. I guess it's kind of enticing to the few folks that still have the patience or the time to read their crap.

As for me, I've got the bottom feeders on "auto ignore".

Screw trolls.

Life is to too short to have me dabble in the murky depths of a couple of colossal fools. You tools can hate the Serbs all you want. All I can hope is that a couple of 'em move in right next door to ya.

I haven't read the Moron from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, or the two slack jaws from the Balkan threads here at FreeRepublic in over 2 years. My life is all the more richer for it.

Yikes!

None of the ones I grew with up did. That's for damn sure. In South Chicago nearly all the Serbs that came there after WW2 were either from Lika, Dalmatia or Bosna and were hard core Chetniks that hated nazis. None of them ever ever had a good thing to say about the Axis.

I remember hearing about one Serb family that was pro-Axis and I believe they faced so much ridicule that they moved to Montana. I believe they were called "Nedanci" or something like that. I know they didn't last long.

I think the fact that there was no such thing as a Croatian "Halyard Mission" [Google this, lurkers] is a pretty good clue as to who was pro Axis and who wasn't.

You really seem to be grabbing at this little straw of a fact that some of the Chetnik leaders cut deals with their nazi occupiers in order to try and stop the slaughter of Serb civilians and then trying to spin and twist it into some sort of rediculous "pro-Axis Serbs" thingy. It's just rediculous. Try as you may, this does not equal the proud goose stepping Ustashe trash that has tarnished the Croatian name forever.

“Fighting flared in late March 92 in northern Bosnia between Serbs and Croats and Arkan attacked Muslims in Bileljina the first week of April. “

It is interesting to see how members of “religion of peace” are “liberal” with the truth!

War in northern Bosnia started on 26 March when Croat-Muslim forces attacked Brod and massacred Serb civilians in village of Sijekovac.
http://www.google.ca/search?q=sijekovac+attack&hl=en

Croat and Muslim planned to do same in BIJELJINA – they even drown list of prominent Serbs to be killed. Layers, teachers, doctors... kill everybody important - quite similar to genocide “Turks” planned to do in 1804.

“Handzar” division was ready to slaughter Serbs, like their fathers did 1941 and that is a reason why Arkan intervened.

Davor Perinovic admitted that war in south-west Bosnia started first week of April of 1992 when group of terrorist send from Croatia attacked city of Kupres –Bosnia.
Perinovic was founder and first chairman of HDZ (Croat Democratic Union) in Bosnia. Croat president rabid anti-Serb and anti-Semite Tudjman kicked him out of party because he was uncooperative and he admitted that his ancestors were of Serbian origin.

Non-Serb led communist army reacted with two days delay and as a result of that unprovoked attack more then 40 Serbs – civilians were tortured and killed. BBC was on the spot they filmed bodies massacred with axes and similar weapons, but they never showed that video.

The Chetniks in Croatia and in Bosnia Hercegovina (except for a tiny group around the Ozren Mountain) never fought the Axis....EVER. But they all collaborated with the Axis.

Those are the facts, Jack.

Can you tell us who armed the Chetniks in Croatia and BiH?

Who evacuated Djujic's Chetniks to safety in the dying days of the war? (hint: they are often named Fritz and Hans).

I can go on and on..but the point is that the non-communist Serbs of Croatia and BiH, and later Montenegro and Serbia chose the Axis over the Allies by collaborating with them against the Allies.

The first action in the war in BiH was the Serb JNA destruction of the Croatian village of Ravno in Hercegovina in autumn 1991.

Trop, we have discussed this before and, frankly, I am surprised that you keep reverting back to the old line.

The Chetniks in Lika as well as in Montenegro had an "understanding" with Italians, but not with the Germans or with Ustashas. That "understanding" was -- we won't hurt you if you don't hurt us; you stay in the cities, we control the countryside.

In Serbia, the Chetniks, actually the Yugoslav Royal Army, engaged Germans from the start. The communists joined them after the Soviet Union was attacked by Hitler. This combined resistance to Germans broke down in November 1941. The Chetniks controlled the countryside, the Germans the cities. There was no official collaboration. There was "tactical manuevering" if you will, and prisoner exchange, but Kocha Popovich reveiled in his memoirs that the same took place between the Partisans and the Germans.

The Germans wanted the head of Mihailovich as well as Tito, but the reward for Mihailovich was much higher! They certainly did not have a reward out for Pavelic in Croatia!

I mean, it's even silly to bring this up, Trop. The Croatian regime was formally allied with the Axis. There is a world of difference between waiting for an opportune moment and being formally allied with the Nazis; between Facist Coatia, which even declared war on the U.S. as a Nazi ally, and Chetniks who were commanded by Gen Drazha Mihailovich, a Defense Minister representing the royal government in Allied London!

The Truth is the Truth.

The Chetniks in Lika as well as in Montenegro had an "understanding" with Italians, but not with the Germans or with Ustashas.

It was more than an "understanding". The Chetniks were armed by the Italians and took part in Axis offensives together with them, the Germans, the Ustashe, and regular Domobran forces. Secondly, the Chetniks in Montenegro had no understanding with the Ustasha because the Ustashe were never there. Thirdly, the Germans weren't in Lika, Dalmatia, Western Bosnia, Hercegovina, or Montenegro until after Operation Weiss, and in particular after the capitulation of the Italians.

At this point, the Chetniks most certainly did engage with the Germans and not only were armed by them, but took part in ops with them such as with the Handzar in Eastern Bosnia against the Partisans. The Chetnik leader of Eastern Montenegro and the Sandzak, Pavle Djurisic, was put back into the field by the Germans and his units armed by them. The Chetniks in Bosnia had already begun dealing and cooperating and getting supplies from the Germans in late 1941. Recall Major Dangic?

In Serbia, the Chetniks, actually the Yugoslav Royal Army, engaged Germans from the start. The communists joined them after the Soviet Union was attacked by Hitler. This combined resistance to Germans broke down in November 1941. The Chetniks controlled the countryside, the Germans the cities. There was no official collaboration. There was "tactical manuevering" if you will, and prisoner exchange, but Kocha Popovich reveiled in his memoirs that the same took place between the Partisans and the Germans.

The Chetniks infiltrated the Nedic Guards and worked with the Germans to keep Serbia peaceful. This was late 1941. By this point, Draza only had officers around him as the Chetniks worked for the Nedic Regime and the war shifted westwards. No official collaboration occurred in Serbia until 1944 when Mihajlovic and his men began to beg the Germans for arms, which they did get, although not in the quantities they wanted.

The Germans wanted the head of Mihailovich as well as Tito, but the reward for Mihailovich was much higher! They certainly did not have a reward out for Pavelic in Croatia!

Only because the Germans didn't trust him. But Draza's control over Chetniks was minimal, and his forces were only a tiny minority of Serb Chetniks as a whole.

The point is that the Serb Chetniks by and large collaborated after only briefly fighting the Axis in 1941, and most never once fought the Axis...but all of them fought together with them at several points during the War. Chetnik resistance to the Axis is myth.
