I just came back from picking up something for my lunch and it is HUMID out there. Lots of clouds (thunderheads). Not much wind. Sun comes and goes. I heard that the storm coming at us from the west is going to help push Fickled Phelia away. I guess we'll see.

We have some folks in Puerto Rico, as well as at Gitmo.

And, the Army sent some folks to a little island called Grenada a while back...

Not to mention Panama and Honduras...

I hired a recently-retired Sergeant Major from the XVIII ABN Corps who had stories to tell about his time in Haiti...

Yup, our Army gets around!

First off, if all the ice melted off of Alaska it would be about the size of Rhode Island!

Second, grits are a carry food.

One takes a bowl of grits, about a cup or so and inserts 2 or 3 sticks of butter. Now that is a heart healthy breakfast!

With oat meal one adds just a single stick of butter and about 8 ounces of pure honey. Mmmmmm that will stick to one's ribs.

Putting rice in tea? Yuck! Yer just a joshin' us right?

And what does your Time And Relative Dimension In Space look like.Did you know Tom Baker played the evil warlock in "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" as well as Rasputin in a movie about the Russian revolution.

We just bought new furniture, and spent some time rearranging old furniture last night - I WISH we had a TARDIS! I didn't know about those, but he played a Marshwiggle in one of the Narnia productions on public tv. (DreamWorks, I think) He was quite good in the role!

Well, humid is as humid does! (bwahahahaha - tongue in cheek)

We have plenty of water around so there is alway some humidity.

But, as a matter of fact, this year has been pretty nice IMO. Lots of days with lower humidity. Our worst times are usually starting late June and going into September.

I think Tuesday the humidity was like 40% and I've seen days lower than that. Today it's 59%. But, probably more than that with the storms moving this way. But, hey, you can never predict Mother Nature. She'll fool ya every time.

Caribbean? This had to be for R&R. I don't know of any army posts there.

Was on the lovely island of St. Lucia for a counter-insurgency exercise in the mid-80's. Jungles and banana spiders. Nothing buy rain the whole time except for a couple days after the exercise. Most beautiful, warm waters imaginable. Love to go there again as a tourist.
