Second, grits are a carry food.
One takes a bowl of grits, about a cup or so and inserts 2 or 3 sticks of butter. Now that is a heart healthy breakfast!
With oat meal one adds just a single stick of butter and about 8 ounces of pure honey. Mmmmmm that will stick to one's ribs.

I learned to eat grits with LOTSA butter & soft scrambled eggs in it!
