Grassly is up. I like what he says, that it's going to be very hard to vote against Judge Roberts.

They're harping on VRA in order to paint him with the racist Katrina card. Duh! ;) LOL

"Broader public good" sounds a lot like "political correctness" to me.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I take the concept of broader public good to distinguish Republicans from Libertarians. While I believe in individual liberty, I think it's always important to work and act for the community (and I'm NOT talking about socialism or communism).

I wish someone would cover one citizen - one vote. No voting multiple times. No voting after death. Otherwise, my voting rights are being trampled.

What say you, Dems?

I'm still around as much as ever. I'm just cutting a low profile.

Thanks for noticing.

"My word, those Kennedy's sure age ugly."

I agree, though Jack and Bobby probably look a bit better than Ted these days.

It sounds like you've raised an excellent son. I appreciate his service to our country. Thank both you and him.

Fat teddy wanted to try to save face from the utter shelacking the roberts gave him yesterday regarding civil rights law. He failed.

Looks like we are not going to get too much wind from Ophelia out our way.

All you need to ask your son is if he is serious about going away to defend the nation, why is his mother having to fight his battles at home? You should back off and let your son handle it. If he cant handle his dad's interference, then he should think again about handling the responsibilities of defending our nation.

The Voting Rights Act is a tool used by the Democrats to permit vote fraud, so it's very important to them. By carving out minority-based voting precincts, they're able to commit massive vote fraud within those areas. If anyone attempts to investigate these irregularities, they're accused of "trying to suppress the black vote" or "trying to intimidate minority voters", etc.

It's your son's life to live. He knows it and you know it. Thank your son for his service and thank you for supporting his decision. I wish you both the best!

Don't worry about it. I'm retired Air Force. The recruiter will most likely look at the character of your son, and feel sorry for your ex, realizing that he most likely got it from you or some other male role model. Not to say that this is the fact of the matter, but just probably how the recruiter will look at you ex's call.

Just checking in late. Missing some of the hearings today due to school children and appts. Darn it. Already 550 posts behind.

My main interest is what the blowhard Kennedy had for Roberts this morning. Can you help me out?

He does not regret joining the Army. Andrew's problem is stepping out the door for the first time in his life to be responsible for himself. He is going to be alright. My gripe is that now that he has made this choice, It is now our responsibility as family members to support him, no matter how we feel. That is what I have tried to convey to the extended family members. My family, of which most hate President Bush's guts, have set their own feelings aside and have stood behind my son 100%. All I have asked my ex's family is to do the same.

It is not that simple. The Democratic Party back then was pro-slavery, and dominating blacks is still the policy of Democrats.

Just thinking in cyberspace:

Has Ann Coulter been on Fox News since she brought up Kennedy's incident at Chappaquidick on "Hannity and Colmes?"
