Public: Response to Katrina Better Now Than Just After Hurricane Hit Most Americans were not impressed with the initial response to Hurricane Katrina, but according to the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup survey, majorities of Americans now say that the people and officials involved in the rescue effort are doing a good job. Most Americans believe that government agencies in New Orleans should have been better prepared, and they support the proposal for an independent investigation into the problems with the government's response. But they reject the notion that race or poverty were reasons why the government was slow to respond.

...in other words, the American people aren't stupid after all! DUH!
I don't see anywhere in there where Bush is to blame. This poll is obviously biased and you're part of that conspiracy!
:)
Ironic that the "City of the Dead" becomes the 'rats final resting place.
You Go Girl, Tell it like it is :-)
But are you surprised? Unfortunately, they've been screaming racism so long that it's become institutionalized, even though it shouldn't be.
New media is publishing 60/60/24/7/365.
Na,Na,Na,Na..Hey,Hey,Hey...GOODBYE!
Polls are NOT news. The MSM uses them as news since they can not get much leaked out of the Bush administration and can not find enough bad news to use against Bush.
I am so sick of frikkin polls? What the he!! good are they anyway?
The truth is more powerful than the MSM.
The old "If you can't faze them with facts, baffle them with Bulls**t" isn't working anymore.
they need bodies, BODIES
Ping for those interested only!
Sombody call a load of ambulances for DU! MSM is nothing but a fraud machine. I love sanity!
As long as Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, Turban Durbin and the rest of the Clueless wonders still get elected to office I might hold off on that assessment. But I know what you mean.
"I wonder if these are as accurate as the 2004 election polls."
Currently, NONE of the pollsters are producing particularly valid results . . . Besides surveying 'adults only' vs 'likely voters', they're all oversampling Democrats/Democrat-leaning subgroups (some to a larger extent than others). I could go on and on . . . but I'm sure you get my point!
I posted this poll for one reason: To underscore the media's willingness to BURY polling results that FLATTER the president while OVERHYPING results that don't!!
When all is said and done I expect poll numbers regarding Katrina to settle at the numbers we saw in Nov/04. The Nov/04 presidential election showed us the chasm between one side and the other and it will remain so for quite a while IMO. In other words, the MSM/Left will believe with every news cycle that they finally "got" Bush. And with nauseating regularity, victory will slip from their unctuous hands. It gets boring after a while...but so does the pessimism around here.
The polls I have seen in the MSM all compare the responses from blacks and whites. They don't show these polls.
it's funny how they've tried to spin the President's upward swing in JA rating recently..."well one poll has him at 38%" (yeh- the publication which made up stories about Koran's being flushed)...and "a poll of poll's still has him in the low 40's"...complete BS.
Well you're going to love this crap then:
