CNN's Jeff Greenfield: "I Can Understand Why John Roberts Earned A Fine Living Arguing In Front Of The Supreme Court. He Is A Very Skilled Litigator And Presenter." (CNN's "Situation Room," 9/13/05 )

The New York Times David Brooks: "I Think, First Of All, It Was A Good Morning Because There Is Nothing That Changed The Likely Prospects That He Will Be Confirmed." (PBS' "John Roberts Confirmation Hearings," 9/13/05 )

CNN's Wolf Blitzer Questions Kennedy On His Accusations While Hearing Continues: "One Final Question, A Quick One To You Senator Kennedy. You Suggested - You Used The Words Mean-Spirited, Referring To John Roberts. He Certainly Didn't Come Across As Being Mean Spirited Today." (CNN's "The Situation Room," 9/13/05 )

Fox News' Chris Wallace: "Senator Kennedy [Had] A Lot Of Probably The Most Heated Questioning So Far Of Judge Roberts And, In Fact, Senator Kennedy Had To Be Repeatedly Reprimanded By The Chairman, Arlen Specter, For Asking Long, Probing Questions And Then Not Seeming To Pay Much Attention To The Answer That Judge Roberts Gave." (Fox News' "Fox News Live," 9/13/05 )

Fox News' Brit Hume: "I Think The Fact That Kennedy Was Repeatedly Interrupted As He Tried To Interrupt The Answers [By Roberts] By The Chairman [Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA)] Who Has Been Praised By Everybody So Far As Having Been Very Fair Probably ... " (Fox News' "Fox News Live," 9/13/05)

I am amazed!

The media is telling me that the dimwits came across as unfair and crass idiots? What a revelation that must be for them!

I knew it all the time.

Blessings, Bobo

Cafferty: "Well, It's Not Your Time, Senator. The Time Is For The Public To Listen To The Views Of A Man Who's Going To Possibly Be The Next Supreme Court Justice. Just A Thought. The Senators Just Become Characterizations Of Themselves In These Things."

Uh...Jack...The Word Is "Caricature".

If it were a prizefight, they would have stopped it.

Roberts knocked the Democrats out in the first round.

Biden is such a JERK, I could NEVER stand him. And he has a BIG ROUND BALD spot on the back of his head. I noticed it when I went to Washington in support of Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings. I'm sure that Bald spot is much larger now.

Teddy Kennedy may be the most "mean spirited" man in American politics today. For him to call the affable John Roberts "mean spirited" must be a case of transference.

Why do they capitalize EVERY single word?

It looks ignorant.

Roberts is definitely impressive. Roberts can disarm every Democrat on that Committee with half his brain tied behind his back

Did anyone ask Roberts to explain his support for the radical homosexual lobby in the Romer v. Evans case?

What was his response?

The Democrats are showing the public what buffoons they are, and their allies in the media are trying to warn them before they damage themselves in the public eye.

Just wondering - was Ruth Buzzy Ginsburg ever questioned about her religious affiliation?

Question #2 - does anyone know what Ruth Buzzy's religious affiliation would be?

"Why do they capitalize EVERY single word?

There is a preponderance of nonstandard grammar on the Internet. Overcapitalizing is less common than the lack of appropriate capitalization, or punctuation.

Internet posters should be aware that proper use of capitalization and punctuation greatly improves reading speed, and helps avoid miscommunication. This, in turn, makes others more likely to want to read your missives; and increases the odds that your message will be understood.

I once went to the extent of sending a personal email to a poster on another discussion group, asking him to start using some capitals and punctuation marks. He responded that he wanted to have a distinctive style. He wasn't moved by my pointing out how much more time it took to read his postings, and how they lost whatever impact they might have had, because so much effort was needed to decode them.

I've come to the point that I simply don't read most such postings. If someone doesn't care how much more of my time and effort is required to decode their message -- then I'm not interested in their message. Similarly, if they're simply too ignorant to know the most basic rules of capitalization and punctuation -- then I figure I won't learn much from trying to decode their message.

It certainly isn't necessary to write everything to the standards your junior-high grammar teacher insisted upon. It is necessary to show consideration to your reader.

The Dims do not know how to attack someone who will not fight back. All Roberts did was act respectful and polite, yet the Dims could not get his goat, and that fustrated them to no end. Bush did a very smart thing nominating Roberts, and I hope the next nominee turns out to be the same.

It's obvious what's going on. The Dims are not interested in Roberts' answers because they have already decided how they're going to vote.

Actually, they know they're going to lose but they have to make a show of beating up on Roberts so they can justify their existence (and their campaign contributions) to the left-wing special interests who are either in the hearing room or glued to the TV.
