Today, President Bush met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the Oval Office, and together they had a joint press conference in the East Room of the White House.
This afternoon, President and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House for New York City, where the President will address the United Nations.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Oh hubba hubba, that second shot in your "favorite" pictures is just gorgeous! Ooh Lah Lah! :-)
The President and Mrs. Bush look much better today. Good to see this.
President Talabani has MUCH more in common with W than W with that S.A. Racketeer & his fellow "OfF Looters".
Thanks for the ping my friend, and thanks for the Dose
Ohio, you da gal!
I am totally amazed by our president. How can he stay so sweet and good humored in the face of all the unjust criticism.
I keep thinking of that poem by Kipling, "If"
If you can keep your head, when all about you,
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you.
That so sums up what all the losers do.
And our Prez is definitely The Man.
yeayyyyyyyyyy!
NOTE THE SOURCE
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush took responsibility on Tuesday for any failures in the federal response to Hurricane Katrina and acknowledged the storm exposed serious deficiencies at all levels of government four years after the September 11 attacks.
"To the extent that the federal government didn't fully do its job right, I take responsibility," Bush told a White House news conference at which he openly questioned U.S. preparedness for another storm or a "severe attack."
Bush's rare admission of "serious problems in our response capability" came as the White House stepped up efforts to repair his public standing. Bush will address the nation at 9 p.m. EDT (0100 GMT) on Thursday from hard-hit Louisiana, his fourth visit to the disaster zone since Katrina struck.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Bush would use Thursday's address to "talk to the American people about the recovery and the way forward on the longer-term rebuilding." / snip More
For all of you who are praying for our President, and I know you are, I kinda changed my prayer this morning.
I always prayed that George would feel God's love through all his difficulties, and I know he does, but I also prayed that he would feel OUR love.
In spite of all the phony polls and ridiculous MSM bias, that he would know that a majority of us respect and love him.
***We agree with Mr. President Bush that democracy is the solution to the problems of the Middle East. Mr. President, you are a visionary, great statesman. We salute you. We are grateful to you. We will never forget what you have done for our people. ***
Now THAT'S a compliment that x42 never got and never deserved.
you know how he likes to hear from us - especially when we are all praying for his good health and happiness.....
