Today, President Bush met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the Oval Office, and together they had a joint press conference in the East Room of the White House.
This afternoon, President and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House for New York City, where the President will address the United Nations.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!
Worked in San Diego many years ago. Congestion has become much worse since then.
You wouldn't know the city now. In the past few yrs.
more than a few doz more condos built downtown 25 to 43 stories high.
Several more high rise hotels, to 43 stories high.
New ballpark for the Padres, etc.
Mission Valley covered with huge condos and shopping centers. SD Co. is over 3 million people.
Must be getting more difficult for you without a car. I hope it is not too bad. How are you getting along?
Regarding Katrina and direct deposit, they would still have problems getting their money. Banks close if there is no electricity. It would solve some problems but not all the disaster problems.
I do like direct deposit, the money gets there at midnight, I can transfer electronically between accounts. It helps and saves me a trip to the bank. The bank is open only when I have to work, most of the time.
How are you getting along?
I am doing ok, Never having a car, just use to getting
around on foot and buses. For So Cal it is relly unheard of.
Been good talking to you, will head off the dose.
Take care and look forward talking again.
Good Night
Have you noticed how C-Span repeats any of the president's speeches just before the call in show each morning? They show him, then read the nasty headlines about him from the NY Times and Washington Post, etc., then open up the phone lines for people to slander him. They set it up everytime, for the dems to go into hissy fits early in the morning.
Yes, you've mentioned how you hate the media and I hate them just as much. All day long, all I've heard from the presser with the Iraqi president is the president's quote about taking responsibility for what went wrong in New Orleans. They leave off the part where he said "anything the federal governmnet may have done wrong" and they also omit the praises of the Iraqi president. I actually want to throw up everytime I hear them mention his name, because I know something derogatory is coming hext.
I've noticed that Laura isn't smiling a lot lately, when she's facing the media. She always has a smile at other times, but not to the media. I think she's angry at them and I don't blame her one bit.
I know, they're fun to play with - taste like chicken!
OMG...I didn't even notice....speaking of red facks!.....
I love Brian. He is the only reason I watch Fox and Friends. I like E.D. and Steve too but on the days Brian is off I tend to find other things to do.
You are so right. Good post. :) Maybe we should bombard the WH email board and send President Bush and staff some notes of encouragement. Just remind him that there are those who support him and are not being blinded by the media bias. Everyone needs encouragement and sometimes we forget that.
What was even more sickening to me was it did not take Blanko long to step up to the microphone and say "FEMA and the federal gov't are taking too long to get the dead bodies out." I knew the minute Bush took blame for the fed. gov't she would be wagging her head in agreement and not get the subtle hint that she should do likewise. How on earth these people look in the mirror is beyond me.
Yum! Fried chicken is my favorite. :)
So have I. The lies of the leftist media have gone beyond the ability to tolerate any more.
It is the exploitation of human tragedy to hurt this innocent, Godly man that have just enfuriated me..........more angry than I have ever been before. Even FOX reporters seem to be enjoying perpetuating the lies and misrepresentation......even some I once trusted, like John Gibson....... "Oh, this is juicy news. Let's keep this attack going, then people won't think we're an arm of the Bush White House."
And here he is, at a phenomenal press conference with the President of a new democracy, a country FREED by the strength and resolve of this good man, and all the press can get from it is that he somehow 'confessed' to being the cause of the pain? The rest is IGNORED?? (Even by Brit Hume).
It is HIDEOUS how they have twisted what he actually said..........and who will know or care?? Just US?? Just Rush and Hannity and Tony Snow listeners and pro-Bush freepers??
No wonder Laura is angry. I read her comments expressing her fury that these idiots are calling her dear husband a racist.
How low can they sink? How evil ARE these people??
Emily, I meant to ping you to my 'rant' in the last post....
Ohio if you are doing the thread tonight could you mention to everyone to send an encouraging email to the President? I know he probably does not read them but his staffers do and would make sure he knows we are standing behind him. He really could use it.
Gretchen does Wednesdays, but I'm sure she'll be happy to include that in her comments.....
