He was a plotter, a co-conspirator, a devious manipulator, a spinner. Such name calling! Since turn-about is fairplay, I will say that IMO Mr Farah is a loon.

Less "extreme" than Thomas?
I'd like the author to give an example of when and where Thomas has been "extreme".
You want "extreme"? Try the ACLU -- the most extreme organization in American law.

So Farah has gone even deeper into sheer idiocy. What a Loon.

IF Roberts was WHAT Farah claims, then Ted Kennedy and the rest of the frothing-at-the-mouth socialist-democrats would be praising him.
To: since1868
Not since he proved himself one of the biggest idiots in the world by falling so foolishly & naively to Y2K fearmongering ... though it did help him sell some subscriptions ROFLMAO

If he openly said he was the justice who would defend abortion for thirty more years, Bush might withdraw his nomination--after all, Bush may not mind appointing a liberal, but he certainly does mind being seen appointing a liberal.

"It really should not matter what the personal ideology of our appointees may be, so long as they recognize that their ideology should have no role in the decisional process i.e., so long as they believe in judicial restraint."Well since that is all I want out of the judicial branch, I'm utterly failing to see why this philosophy disqualifies Roberts. We don't need the Supreme Court to run around overturning 99% of the U.S. Code; we just need them to get the hell out of the way.

Time will tell. But this I will say, anyone who says that decisions which are wrongly decided but should be allowed to stand if challenged, is an imbecile or just wants power. Either one is a problem.

Yes, but he makes a good point with this statement:
"Roberts says that he picks and chooses what interpretive tools to use (such as textual analysis, historical analysis, or reliance on precedent) depending on which tools seem best to fit a particular case ..."
Bush should have picked someone who believes in Original Intent instead of a living Constitution.
