No details yet, but what the??????

Federal response is his bag. Who takes the blame for city and state response? Not holding my breath.
This is exactly what any really good boss would do. However, it usually means that behind the scenes, lots of heads are going to roll.

> BREAKING NEWS President Bush says he takes responsibility for the federal government's failures in responding to Hurricane Katrina. Details soon.
I wish he hadn't said that...evn though the guy at the top always has to accept that the buck stops there. That doesn't mean he should roll over, either. There's a chain of command for disaster response and it would be absolutely criminal if he takes all the heat for the feckless LA officials who should have done more...in fact, they should be indicted.
It's on the CNN.com homepage under Breaking News. At posting time there was no link.
Waiting for Blanco and Nagin to step up to the plate.
EXACTLY! A LEADER takes the blame whether or not he IS responsible. Compare this to Ol Zipper Klintoon's:
"I did not have sex with that woman..."
"It depends on what your definition of "is" IS!"
etc, etc, etc.
CNN pretending they got a big scope.
Obi-wan Kanobi defence. People will forget once Blanco and Nagin are put under oath.
High stakes poker from one of the masters!
Might not be such a bad approach. After the CIA bungled the Bay of Pigs, JFK personally assumed responsibility. Reagan assumed responsibility for the things some in his administration did in regards to Iran-Contra without his knowledge. Both of these mea culpae actually improved Kennedy's and Reagan's stature with the public.
I have no problem with Bush accepting responsibility. It's what good leaders do. Address the issues and fix them for the next time. Something Blanco, Landrieu and Nagin are incapable of understanding.
Blanco and Nagin couldn't spell "kat" if you gave them a "k" and a "t".
Sounds like the mark of a true leader, to me.
...crickets...
I concur.
That was taken out of context. He was asked a question from a blond reporter, MSM the way she asked it, and in the form of answering the questioning the President said:
"There were some things done right and there were some things not done right, and whatever part of the government that was not right, we will find out what went wrong, I take full responsiblity to do so..."
He is not taking the responsibilty of everything that went wrong was his fault, he is going to look into it and correct it so it doesn't happen again...
But he can be re- 'selected', yes? There aren't term limits on Presidential selection are there?
R3
He would win in a landslide. No matter what MSM and moveon.hate has to say.
President Bush is doing all the right things. He he making this as right as he can. The hurricane was a huge disaster and no one could have prevented it from being as big as it was. However, MY PRESIDENT is not a racist, he is not a slacker and he will go down in history as one of the best in our nation's time of needs. MSM is history so is the hate of the left!
