So does this mean that burger chains are supposed to automatically hire anyone who fills out an application?

This is a difficult one. We had some big discussion about this disease many months ago here on FR. It is an extraordinarily disfiguring disease. I don't know. I admire this woman for her tenacity. But I do understand the restaurant problem. It's sad. I hope this woman gets a job where she can work in with peace and respect.

No, it means they cannot deny employment to someone based upon a disability, which seems to be the case here.

So does this mean that burger chains are supposed to automatically hire anyone who fills out an application? Actually no. And as much as I hate the EEOC and all these lawsuits, the facts seem undisputed. Other applicants with the same qualifications were hired while she was not. The chain seems to agree, they are settling. And the amount is small, it seems to have been the principle instead of the money in this case.

So does this mean that burger chains are supposed to automatically hire anyone who fills out an application?I think that the ability to fill out an application is sufficient qualification to be a whopper-flopper. We're not talking brain surgery here.

"So does this mean that burger chains are supposed to automatically hire anyone who fills out an application?"Nope. It just means that people with certain "physical attributes" can bilk whichever company they choose. Probably learned it from Jessie Jackson and his shake-down operation.

Worse, it means Hooters now has to hire ugly, flat-chested chicks.

She should try the Waffle House. Would probably be an improvement. Some of those poeple are uglier than passing gas in church.
