One of the most important battles of the 17th century was the Battle of Vienna, which was fought on September 12, 1683... This victory freed Europe from the Ottoman Turks and their invasions and secured Christianity as the main religion in all of Europe.

The Naval Battle of Lepanto (1571)where Don John of Austria and Spain led the fight, 70,000 Christians against the invader and to Victory. Of his 70,000 men 24,000 were killed or wounded.

The long defense of Constantinople by the Empire, from 717AD to 1453AD. Those people fought.

The business has been going on for a thousand years. Nearly 1,300 years. Right now we are closer to victory than at any time. We can win, and disable this scourge. The true enemy is not Arabic or Persian but Leftist here in the USA.

Can you imagine a Western leader saying anything remotely like this today:

"...to proceed to the Holy War, and with God's help to give back the old freedom to besieged Vienna, and thereby help wavering Christendom."

Instead, the ACLU would file suits out the wahab on the grounds of discrimination. CAIR would say that the land was originally Muslim anyway. Shreiking libs would publicly call for that leader's removal while calling for his execution on the Internet through sites like the Democratic Underground. Republicans would waffle, and ultimately cave under the pressure.

Well, it's paradixical, but after Sobieski taught the Turks the lesson in Vienna they kept having great respect for Poland, and the Poles.

After the Poland got split up between Russia, Prussia and Austria at the end of 18th century - there always was a place waiting for Polish envoy in the Ottoman court in Istanbul.
During formal receptions for diplomats given by sultans of Turkey herald always announced: "The envoy from Lechistan ("Poland" in old-Turkish) hasn't come yet!".

Imagine how Russian or German envoys felt then.
