Vanity: Did PETA rush to help animals suffering from Katrina?

Did I miss something or hasn't the MSM reported on PETA rushing to the aid of the many animals floundering from hurricane Katrina. As PETA is the big protector of animals they must have mounted an army of volunteers to help this plight. Didn't they?

Yes, they ordered 100 trash containers, 500 plastic trash bags, and a bunch of poisons for the little critters....

I don't think PETA has a rescue arm, a la ASPCA, etc. They keep to activism.

I haven't seen any indication that they sent one of their killing vans.

I checked their website and all it really says is something about including animals in disaster relief plans. http://www.peta.org/ I wrote to them about the animals in the Zimbabwe Zoo and have yet to receive a response. Oh well.

With PETA it's all about the issue not the actual treatment of animals.

I thought PETA was some sort of bread.

Pfft...!! They'd need five weeks of training for it. The only training they've had is dressing up like a chicken.
