I'll try. I thought he was over in the Afghan hills by now. Or Mexico City.

One last question.......I will be very glad to see the death count in N.O. be lower than expected, but I did think they were waiting to drain the city before making that determination. It was my understanding there will be some underneath the waters. Is that not possible?

Sadly, I believe that is the case, but many of those homes have already been searched, -pray for the lowest number.

I would think so lainie. While I dont see 10,000 having perished I cant imagine the NO numbers will stay at 190 - 200. I read that Mississippi is already at 250 or so.

isnt he under arrest? Maybe I am confusing him with some other idiot low self esteem American who turned to
Islam for acceptance and a promise that folks who used to laugh at him will now pay for what they did.
Friggin loser.

I don't even know if we could consider Italy a friend these days! no - your point? I have however met a lot of Italians who hate my country.

Well warsaw44, I met a few Italian-Americans who also disagreed with some US policies.

However, you can count on the Italian Government and most of the Italian people to be a staunch US ally and friend in the war on terror.

I did some time at the US Embassy in Rome and the US 6th Fleet in Gaeta and Napoli Italy.

You should fly over some time to enjoy the people and the lifestyle.

Art isnt as whacked out as Noory. I swear that Noory is in love with every 911 conspiracy theorist and I think he is actually dating Alex Jones.

Newman's other NOLA song: New Orleans Wins the War Don't remember much about my baby days,
But I been told
We used to live on Willow near the Garden District
Next to the Sugar Bowl
Momma used to wheel me past an ice cream wagon
One side for White and one side for Colored
I remember trash cans floatin' down Canal Street
It rained every day one summer
Momma used to take me to Audubon Park
Show me the ways of the world
She said, "here comes a white boy, there goes a black one,
that one's an octoroon
This little cookie here's a macaroon, that big round thing's
a red balloon
And the paper down here's called the Picayune
And here's a New Orleans tune"
In 1948 my Daddy came to the city
Told the people that they'd won the war
Maybe they'd heard it, maybe not
Probably they'd heard it and just forgot
'Cause they built him a platform there in Jackson Square
And the people came to hear him from everywhere
They started to party and they partied some more
'Cause New Orleans had won the war
(We knew we'd do it, we done whipped the Yankees)
Daddy said, "I'm gonna get this boy out of this place
Bound to sap his strength
People have fun here, and I think that they should
But nobody from here every come to no good
They're gonna pickle him in brandy and tell him he's saved
Then throw fireworks all 'round his grave"
So he took us down to the airport, and flew us back to L.A.
That was the end of my baby days
Blue blue morning, blue blue day
All your bad dreams drift away
It's a blue blue morning, of a blue blue day
Lose those bad dreams
Those gray clouds above you, what you want them around
with you for?
You got someone to love you
Who could ask for more?
It's a blue blue morning, of a blue blue day
All your bad dreams drift away

So do I.. Some comments, though, still worry me...

Just got back from a boat ride out to the beloved Ship Island. The fort still stands, though damaged. The lighthouse does not. Bodies floating in the water as well as bags of Tyson chicken, probably blown off the port.
- from a reporter's blog.

I don't like to contemplate what all was taken out to sea with the retreat of the storm surge.

There are so many people I'd like to take a swing at. Maher is tops on the list. My own homerun derby includes: Maher, Moore, Franken, Barney Rubble Matthews and many more! lol

Looks like the person I am looking for is starting to turn up on missing lists, it's been a while now... He has a Son in Iraq, I am also in contact with some other friends, after all this time, nobody had heard a word from him or his Family.

Last show, 2nd season, is next Tuesday.

It will be replaced by the 3rd season of Nip/Tuck (a great show for those with strong stomachs)

Rescue Me was renewed and will most likely replace Nip/Tuck again when their new shows are exhausted.

If so, F/x gets to keep Tuesday night, 10:00 PM fresh with new shows from two quality series.

MR
Please excuse the delayed response. For years I have thought a dream vacation would be to start in Northern Italy, explore the mountain ranges along the borders, see Milan, Venice etc and work my way down South. I'd like to see it all From Naples to Tivoli.
I dated an Italian woman who was working here in the US and met more than a few of her Italian friends. Outside of that I have met quite a few Italians visiting the States ( and other Europeans ). All of them - and I mean all of them had nothing but negative comments to make about my country. Not just political comments but comments about the American people and how ignorant they are. These people were so rude as to begin conversations with me about how much they hated the US. They didn't even know me and yet felt it perfectly acceptable behavior to make such comments about my country and country men while standing on US soil.
If thats any indication of how Italians feel about America I suspect they are not our friends. At the very least, as you said, the Italian gov. supports us at least for now.
