The film depiction of Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania on 9/11/01 is being shown on the Discovery Channel at 9 pm Eastern time.

That is in less than one hour for people in all time zones that are on satellite feed.

A FReeper lost his Dad on this flight and wants everyone to watch.

He says it has some (but not all) of the real communications from the plane.

Hello,

ME too! I do think that there would be, in that situation, a measure of shock that would creep in. That would account for some of the calm voices coming from that plane. What I heard most, though, was a love for family and friends, and a desire not to upset or hurt those that these brave people loved so dearly. Bless them all in their love and courage.

We're talking about rural PA here...It's not like there's much out there

I'm in rural PA and guess what I can see from my kitchen window? A mosque.

I am glad they didn't shy away from showing the slitting of the throat of the passenger or the one shown dead on the floor. I think a visual sometimes brings it home to people - and hopefully this reenactment will help people not to lose sight of danger of these Jihadists. Sometimes I think some people have lost sight of the terrible threat that we face.

Yikes. Of course that wasn't my point, but...wow. I've never seen a mosque around here (maybe they're all within the city limits).

I will trust that the panel did not do this intentionally - but I am interested in finding out. We'll see, but I am hoping this was coincidence. And hey, it can always be modified.

On the show, they showed the site of where the plane crashed. There was a cresent ridge. I think that is how this design came about. To preserve the natural impression of the crash site, but to add chimes in honor of each of the passengers.

If you find out that there was any other motive, please let me know. I would be very surprised to find out that it anything more than the preservation of the sight as it was after the wreckage was removed.

Chris..... If you find out that the Memorial for Flight 93 is being politciized.....Just say the word and I promise you that I will be among the first to Shanksville with my chainsaw. I've been there twice to pay my respects and honor to your father and the others of Flight 93

She was the daughter of friends of ours. They had been trying for a long time to become pregnant, and their loss has been such a struggle for him. Keep him in your prayers. =( She had her book posthumously published called, "You Can Do It!" by Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas.

That's exactly it!! I thought she was GREAT on the phone with her son. But talking on camera, she creeped me out. I saw her on (I think) Larry King[?] and she gave me the same ick-factor so I changed the channel quickly. Also, much TOO much emphasis that her son was gay. Who cares about that?!

Here's a red crescent monument already in existence on the Turkish side of Cyprus;

It's highly visible for about half the trip from the Greek side during a drive from Larnaka to Lefkosia( Nicosia ). One of the most odd things I've ever seen firsthand.

Chris, I thought of your dad through the entire show. What a moving and wonderful tribute to your dad, and all of the other heroes on flight 93. It was a difficult show to watch, and my hubby and I were both in tears, but there was also great pride because of the courage these dear people showed in fighting back. What a lesson for this nation, if we will only learn it. Thanks to the Discovery Channel for airing this.

Aggie Mama,

Amazingly small world. When I met Jack Grandcolas in Shanksville I also found out that we had some uncanny ties to his in-laws. My uncle, who lives in Plano, also knew Larry Catuzzi - Laura's Dad.

My cousin - who works in the municpal bond arena - knew Larry Catuzzi as well from going to conferences around the country.

And, at the time, I worked for RBC Dain Rauscher....and Larry Catuzzi worked for Rauscher(before being acquired)..in the same department as my boss at the time.

My uncle knew him...my cousin knew him...and my boss knew him. And none of us knew this about one another until 9/11. And his daughter ends up being on the same flight as my father's. Amazing!!

Chris

My reaction matched yours! I haven't lost my anger since 911, but this just brought it all back to the surface. I want to kick some butt myself!

Another thing that the film captured so well was the evil of the terrorists. I mean, these are very sick, horrific, evil monsters...so cold and barbaric under that calm and "human " exterior. The flight school instructor just couldn't believe his student was so evil as he knew him as a student..he was very shocked by that. They are like that serial killer ( BTK )that was just one of the neighbors and went to church. I just can't believe the liberals either don't get it, or are so power mad, they would sacrifice their country to get voted in.

Hello,

You are so right about the absolute need for this country to remember what we face. As I watched tonight, I had incredible sadness, but even more red hot anger. How dare they? How dare they take these lives?

Stay angry, all of you, each of us. These bastards are just waiting for the opportunity to slit your throat.

"I just can't believe the liberals either don't get it, or are so power mad, they would sacrifice their country to get voted in."

I don't think the radical libs think of this country as theirs. Their "country" would be a Socialist (or is that Marxist?) utopia where everyone's wages go to the government and are distributed as people like them see fit. They have this deranged touchy-feely idea in their heads that no one would ever want for anything under such a system.

Instead, they find themselves living under...this: where people have to earn what they get, and if they don't earn anything, they don't get anything (read: carry their own water). There are exceptions because Jesus tells us to be compassionate, but essentially that's the way it is. They would scrap this country and start over from scratch, and in that sense this isn't their country--they merely live here. We call such people who would gleefully overthrow our government...ahem...traitors, or at least sleeping ones.

I sent you Freepmail with a suggested modification.

Please let me know what you think.

I cried with sadness and anger during most of the film but then felt amazing peace and pride when those 40 Angels voted to fight back!
