I just got done yelling at my father in law. He didn't really deserve it he was telling me again how there is a conspiracy to keep a low consumption conventional gasoline engine from the public...'200 miles to the gallon' he said in his heavy Hungarian accent. It's a silly argument that we've had before and I don't usually get upset at him for it, but today I melted down. I apologized of course and everyone seemed to understand. They know I'm only upset because it's September 11th.
That day 4 years ago, I was home. I had interviewed on Friday September 7th for a position with a company on a higher floor of the north tower and had a call back for Wednesday the 12th. Everyone I interviewed with was killed along with a dozen or so people, some of whom I've known since I was 14 years old. One old friend in particular died leaving 2 children and a pregnant wife.
The weather that day was almost exactly like today, and my family and I stood there safe in my Westchester living room and watched the world descend into the surreal. I wanted to record the images, but I was too upset. I regret it now because it seems I might never be able to see them again. The media has decided that I'm too frail for such harsh reminders.
So I yelled at my father in law today but it wasn't him I was really upset at.
Here in New York, all the local News stations are showing the ceremony at ground zero. They are reading the names, and tolling a bell to coincide with the buildings coming down. I watched it long enough to hear the names of my closest friends who died that day, and to see the sister of one of them on TV. And I believe that it's important to have this kind of ceremony, but not nearly as important as remembering the events from that day.
The media has decided that the images from 9/11 are too graphic to show to Americans. They wouldn't want to offend our delicate sensibilities by showing images that remind us that there are a millions of people out there who hate us because of who we are not what we do. And that's what has me so upset today. They make this sill pretense, but in fact they don't want to show us the images because they know that it might build support for the policies current administration which they oppose with all their might.
It's my personal feeling that the news organizations should play the news feeds as they came in that day. I'm furious that the media has made a decision about who's side they are on and it isn't mine.
I don't really know what to do about it. It seems to me that the MSM behaves the way it wants and argues the points it wants regardless of the evidence which may contradict it. They've long since stopped trying to offer non-partisan news, but that's really beside the point in a case like this. They say that societies aren't destroyed but that they commit suicide and if that's so, then the media is doing all it can to help speed the suicide of the west.
It seems to me the footage from 9/11 would be a ratings winner, and as such at least Fox news should run it, but even they don't. It seems to me that all the letters and phone calls in the world would make the media change sides on an issue like this. But I'd appreciate any suggestions.
I do feel better about one small thing today. I was surfing around and saw that old favorite FR bumper sticker it said: "You are not alone" www.freerepublic.com. It was nice to remember that.
ps: we still need bin Laden's head on a plate !
get him.......
Amen to your thoughts. MSM = America's enemy, no doubt.
Some people say that what's wrong with America is ignorance and apathy. All I can say to them is I don't know and I don't care.
Conspiracies galore about 9-11?
Try this web site for refutation.

Search for March 2005 issue for complete debunking.
A&E is running a documentary about 9/11 with plenty of footage.
We should never be on the defensive. We remember.
I have a video tape that my daughter started soon after the first plane hit the towers. We recorded until it ran out 6 hours later. To this day, I haven't watched it.
I'm betting there is no such source.
There have been plenty of programs on the last few weeks that bring it all back. I don't understand how it is that people are missing them. I watch them all, even the older offerings.
LOL. I like you sense of humor.
I have become convinced that that MSM in America is actively pushing for a civil war. It is the only way I can understand and explain the truely vile actions of each and every one of these scumbag press members.
Can anybody recommend any DVDs about 9/11?
"Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right
Darryl Worley - Have You Forgotten?"
I bought the CD the first day it came out, didn't wait, as I usually do, for it to wind up in the remainders racks. Recommended it to my friends and family, too. I still play it, too.
Check out Amazon.com. They have several DVD's about 9/11 and you can check the recommendations from others.
Yeah, those urban legends are legion. My husband's family has this story about how his grandfather invented a high-grade gasoline out of dirt.
Flying in my front yard is an American flag. I got the flag from a group called "The Healing Fields". On the flag pole is the name of one of the victims of the World Trade Center:
Lonny J. Stone
Age 43, Bellmore, NY
World Trade Center
I have not forgotten.
"I always get very upset on the 911 anniversary. I am angry that OBL is still alive. I am royally pissed that Bush has done NOTHING about this for 4 years. We know he is somewhere in the border region between Afganistan and Pakistan. We dhould send an army in there to get him. If the Paki's don't like it, tough s**t. The Afgans tried to protect him and we took them out. We should do the same here. If the local tribes don't like it, let them pay the price for hiding them. I want that guy's head on a pike outside the White House. And I want it NOW. Unless Bush delivers a DEAD Bin Laden, he is a FAILED President."
We've got 20,000 soldiers in Afghanistan, working the area where OBL is supposed to be hiding out. You think those guys aren't looking for him seriously hard? That border hardly exists, except as lines on a map, for those troops. If he's there, (which I doubt) we'll eventually find him. If he shows up someplace else, we'll eventually find him. In the mean time, kick your dog, or something, and maybe write a letter to President Bush, and tell him how you feel, and what, exactly, you think he should do about it. In other word, quit yer bitchin' and do something about it!
