I never comment on anything Brian Williams says. I can't stand the guy. He just rubs me the wrong way. During my life and career, I have known people like him, and they were generally useless as productive human beings. This guy is a loser, no matter what his politics are. End of story!!!

Brian Williams is a POS...not sure how many of you Freepers watch NBC Tonight...but he is actively trying to bring this administration down..blatantly...no such journalistic integrity as far as Brian Williams is concerned...he thinks he's the next Cronkite..

" "I have not seen an inch of my own coverage," he said."

Well, I have and it's been grotesque- as usual.
Blow Dry Brian has never been fair or balanced- his hyperbole is only matched by his hubris.
His main sources are " many say " and " there are those that say. "
Remember Blow Dry said that George Washington was a terrorist,
when trashing Pat Robertson, BDB said that Robertson had advocated that " the United States assassinate " another " world leader. " Apparently BDB thinks the US routinely assassinates world leaders.
In the spring of 04, when BDB was acting as John Kerry's de facto campaign manager, he breathlessly reported on the horrendous US economy and said that " many " were saying the US was in the worst economy since Herbert Hoover.
And as Williams continued to talk about the dismal US economy-he showed black and white footage of people on bread lines in the 30's.
Just in case viewers did not get his message -wink, wink.

the end of an unusual four-year period of deference to people in power.

Hey, these journalists in whatever medium they work - broadcast or print or internet - themselves wield considerable power, since they control (or like to imagine that they control) the content of news broadcasts every minute of every day.

It's obvious that these "emperor" journalists have no clothes. Good God, it's going to be fun to expose them to the elements! Move to the rear, Dan Rather, Jayson Blair, et al., apparently a lot of your colleagues want to join you! Schools of journalism have really got to accept more intellectual diversity; a healthy infusion of conservative thought would add 20 or more points to the average IQ score of journalism students!

Yeah, more cynicism, that's the ticket! You been losing audience for years because you are so resolutely optimistic, upbeat, always looking on the bright side. Everyone knows that.

"Perhaps we've taken something off our fastball and perhaps this is the story that brings a healthy amount of cynicism back to a news media known for it."

The "Old Grey Whore" and the MSM ain't what they used to be.

A Blame Bush's America campaign will get real old real fast. I see ratings going further South.

"NBC's Brian Williams says the lasting legacy of Hurricane Katrina for journalists may be the end of an unusual four-year period of deference to people in power."

Rolls eyes...

Bush did Cocaine! Bush is a dry drunk! Bush used dirty tricks against McCain in South Carolina! Bush wants to poison us with arsenic in our water! Bush is a drunk driver!

Bush's is anti-medicine (stem cells)! Bush is anti-science (teach alternatives to Evolution)! Bush is giving big tax breaks to the rich! Bush is leading us into a nuclear arms race by killing the ABM Treaty!

Bush's "16 words!" No WMD's in Iraq! Bush didn't Guard the WMD chemicals in Iraq! Bush let the Iraqi's loot their own museums!

Abu Ghraib, Abu Ghraib!

Bush is responsible for Global Warming, hurricane Katrina, and Louisianna's failure to use their buses to evacuate their own people!

Oh, and don't mind our forged Bush National Guard documents, our "leaked" Valerie Plame reporter set-up, our Senate Democrat Intel Committee memo that admitted abusing the Senate for our partisan advantage, our forged "exit polls," our forged French intel documents on Nigeria uranium sales, our lies about Bush crowds "booing" Clinton, etc.

Oh yeah, the Corrupt News Media has really been "deferring" to the Party in power. They've had their "mute" button on.

Uh, Mr. Williams?

Before you start throwing stones, Mr. Glass House, you might want to take a look at your own approval ratings.

Thank you.

~LOL~ if you saw the NOLA picture show that was posted her Friday evening and yesterday... the guy had pictures of Shep (liked him), Brian Williams (said he's an a-ho!e) and the woman from MSNBC made up 95% of what she was saying and the woman could use a Thesaurus.

I've got some news for ya Mr. Williams:

A large majority of us have long known that the members of the MSM are a bunch of cynical b****rds!

"The mute button seemingly in place since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks has been turned off."

Huh??? The only difference is that they've now escalated their screeching and harping to a fever pitch like something in the throes of a demon-possessed seizure fueled by the fires of Hell. In fact, their frenzy has become so completely out of control that I expect they are embarassing the devil himself.
