Many people who had to evacuate will be very comforted to know that animals are not being forgotten. That's my two cents--helping the pets is helping the souls of the people who are hurting from having lost their animals.
I love cats......in cream gravy
I love puppies......with a bottle of merlot
Houston SPCA is also asking for donations - they have taken in thousands of animals from the hurricane affected areas.

Thanks for adding the link, I live in Houston and the SPCA is doing a great job.
Thanks for linking. I'm HTML impaired today;)
Perhaps you are in need of AA, if you drink a bottle of merlot with puppies!
BUMP
I'm in Dallas - I love watching Animal Planet when they have the Houston SPCA on - on another note, husband has a job offer in Houston but we heard there are no apartments, houses, or hotels available so we may have to turn it down.
dinner...
I am selling my house if you are interested, moving to Florida. It's been on the market 2 weeks!
LA SPCA desperately needs dog kennels to continue rescue efforts
The LA SPCA posted the following notice asking for dog kennels for its staging area in Jefferson Parish. These kennels are needed to temporarily hold animals so that rescue efforts in the New Orleans area can continue.
URGENTLY NEEDED:
Large Dog Kennels - If you, or someone you know, has access to a quantity of large dog kennels, they are desperately needed for the animal rescue effort. Kennels are being brought in from various areas around the country next week, but we can't wait that long.
If you are located near the rescue area, and are able to donate these items, please take them to the Louisiana SPCA Temp Shelter at Lamar Dixon Expo Center, Exit 177 off of Interstate 10, Gonzales.
If you are able to enter the Jefferson area, the dog kennels are needed at the staging area, Jefferson Feed, 4421 Jefferson Hwy, at the corner of Central Ave. Phone numbers for both these locations are listed below. Hundreds of kennels are needed. Thank you for your help!
Hmm is you're departure because of what just happened to all Texans?
We are strongly considering moving out of our beloved state, it seems this red state is getting to blue for us.
Where I live, our local shelters sent volunteers down to help rescue. They are also taking donations for the effort. Maybe the same is being done in other cities/towns?
No. it has to do with that, we're moving closer to hubby's aging parents. I'm a native Texan and it hurts to leave.
You freak!!!
