We have to fight this one with every fiber in our being.
The hero's of Flight 93 died protecting other Americans and if we allow the left to erect this PC crap...we might as well roll over as a nation.
Fight this one people....FIGHT!!

I believe the guy who created this insult is a architecture professor at USC.
I wonder if the USC school of architecture has received any large gifts from Saudi Arabia. I remember reading that at least one bin Laden family member went to USC but I don't remember if it was for architect but Atta had a degree in architecture ( not USC ).
There seems to be an interest in the subject amongst terrorist types, second only to aviation.

Well at least the Klintoon Memorial will be correct.

Have there been any comments by any family members of Flight 93 passengers and crew? Or are they in shock? TV crews should be camped on the doorstep of the designer and the design award committee.
If this travesty is allowed to stand the Arabs will have their biggest laugh in four years, and the United States will look like a bunch of wusses.

One of the other threads has a post by the son of a passenger. He seems to have no problem with it. Maybe many of the families...average Americans...are not as astute to underhanded maneuvers (or simply not as schooled in geopolitics) as those of us who are more politically active. They could likely take the warm & fuzzy rhetoric of the architect at face value, and be completely unaware of the nature of the underlying symbolism.

From a design jury member:
"Last year, our second class of the fall season happened to have been scheduled for 9/11, and so, of course, did not happen. The semester was foreshortened by the attacks on the World Trade Center. For a while the New School buildings served as staging areas for some emergency services. Several students came closer to the carnage than anyone should. Our academic world became more real as we talked about America's arrogant and profligate energy use, which was dramatically embedded in the twin towers, now turned to one big toxic pile of dust. The rubble was burning not far from where we sat. those who will give forms to our physical environment-my twenty-eight hopes for the future of a new design ethic-had a hard time ignoring this fact of their lives. The collapse shows, among other things, that our current American lifestyle is unsustainable."

Quoting from the design jury member:

So long as we keep putting up with defeatists like that idiot, that statement will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I have a feeling if the designer had shown the memorial from a different angle there would have been a gasp of horror instead of a gasp of approval when it was unveiled. It's not hard to see why some view this as a tribute to the terrorists...
Below is a flipped, mirrored, and rotated pic of the memorial - as will be seen from the air approaching from the other direction... As someone on another thread pointed out there is a stand of trees close to where the star would be.
My apologies to those whose family members were killed in this tragedy, but I think someone is playing a sick, sick joke here...

I must be getting tired cause I don't understand what you're saying! LOL Care to re-iterate your statement for us clueless folk?
To: LibertyRocks
I did a little more research and looked at the .pdf they had on the memorial site. I can see where the panel missed this glaring "coincidence" because in their presentation it looks beautiful and doesn't bear the same striking picture as the model provides...
Anyway, here are the names of the group members listed for this particular entry: Paul Murdoch Architects, Nelson Byrd Woltz, RBA Partners, Sato & Boppana, Davis Langdon, George Saxton Associates, Clayton Lee Rugh, Paulynn Cue, Aleksander Novak-Zemplinski, Design Models, Inc., Steve Payne

>"I must be getting tired cause I don't understand what you're saying! LOL Care to re-iterate your statement for us clueless folk?"Well... Islame is destined to join such other notable religions as Zooastrianism, Druidism, Baalism, not to mention all the Amazonian religions based on Hollyweird movie stars found in the Weekly World News.
As for the insult of having traitorous "artwork" forced on us, we should shove it the wrong way in their one way digestive tracts.
