The mayor of Dallas is a headline-hungry idiot looking to leave some kind of monument to herself when she exits.
Do you know if a FReeper has put together an FAQ sheet we can ship to local media outlets?
The Libs not only think the Constitution is a living, changing organism, they also think that truth is a living, changing organism.
I have been watching the networks for years and I have noticed CNN changing this last week the way they have been reporting, from Kyra Phillips with Pelosi to this a.m. with good stories, may be a passing thing, but I am getting fed up with Fox and never thought I would say that. I love major Garret, watched him begin on N.E.T., which I miss and other anchors and shows on Fox, but watching them destroy a man(Brown) along with all other media,I emailed Fox after I was so angry at him trying to incite a riot...I have never emailed a show before. anway my point is maybe Fox does not have Roger Ailes running it anymore because I see I change coming I am not liking. Hope I am wrong. plus having Shep and Geraldo on O'Reilly and other shows self-congragulating theirselves is getting obnoxious (including O'Reilly)I truly hope I am wrong because I got a little sattelite instead of the big one being up in the mountains only if they carried Fox, and that was years ago when they were just starting out.
"A darker spin would be that they told her to refuse the help so that they could make President Bush look bad because he was "late with help" and "President Bush is a racist".
Yes, but using the poor of NO makes them great pawns in this chess game for total global power.
It's a must bookmark thread. It's an archive of links.
Oh and please, bump it while you're there. It deserves it.
But thanks!
Has anyone seen or heard why Algore arrived in LA on Sat. Sept. 3rd? He refused to talk to reporters (a story in itself) and was whisked away. I have yet to hear anything more about him. Perhaps liason with the DNC while tucked away in the Gov's mansion?
In my mind it wasn't that Haley Barbour didn't want him there that soon, he needed to do it for the pundits who are assailing him now for being slow off the dime... for the Michael Moores who will say he sat and read a childs book instead of leaping to his feet, etc... and for the Republican Party so we dont' get a bunch of uninformed people voting for Rats in '06 because they "think" the GOP doesn't care. In politics perception is 99%.
On Newsmax there's a story saying Nancy Pelosi is warning of a Republican cover up! She said "We owe these people the truth!"
Grrrr The dems sure do owe the people the truth!! But they are in full spin mode now trying to cover up for Gov Blanco and Mayor Nagin.
maybe a strategy session on how to "get Bush"
You gotta give CNN a break--they were overwhelmed with DNC faxes in the early days of the disaster, which, of course, are high-priority.
He chartered (basically underwrote) a chartered MD80 to bring in supplies and take survivors to Tennessee. I actually respected him for about five days for this until yesterday when he reverted to form and at a speect in San Diego (Sierra Club Summit) used it to say he could save people but Bush couldn't.
The weirdest part was Blank-o running around screaming for buses while NOLA's buses were sitting parked together under water.
Reminds me of stories about Hitler screaming to his aides for non existent division to push the Russians back from Berlin.
Exactly right! I told my husband that the other night after work...if they do have hearings and the dems come "uncovered" do you think the media with possibly the exception of Fox will cover it? They will play it down, as they did with the Delay ordeal when it became public knowledge the dem's had more to cover up about their travel expense's and who paid for what...now that is forgotten. (Just as Able-Danger will be I fear)
I would like the Pres. come out for once and say exactly what, where, who ect. happened in time sequence and say it with a voice of "I Have had It!!!" I am tired of him and the Rebublicans always being polite, politically correct and soft-spoken, it is getting aggravating to me.
CNN had that fact on September 2nd.
Aired September 2, 2005 - 21:00 ETKING: We're back.
Joining us now in Washington is Marty Evans, the President and CEO of the American Red Cross. She traveled with the president today. The Red Cross is not in New Orleans, why?MARTY EVANS, RED CROSS PRESIDENT AND CEO: Well, Larry, when the storm came our goal was prior to landfall to support the evacuation. It was unsafe to be in the city. We were asked by the city not to be there and the Superdome was made a shelter of last resorts and, quite frankly in retrospect, it was a good idea because otherwise those people would have had no shelter at all.
We have our shelters north of the city. We're prepared as soon as they can be evacuated, we're prepared to receive them in Texas, in other states, but it was not safe to be in the city and it's not been safe to go back into the city. They were also concerned that if we located, relocated back into the city people wouldn't leave and they've got to leave.
...
KING: Marty, how would you respond?
EVANS: Well, Larry, we were asked, directed by the National Guard and the city and the state emergency management not to go into New Orleans because it was not safe. We are not a search and rescue organization. We provide shelter and basic support and so we were depending, we are depending on the state and the agencies to get people to our shelters in safe places.
You're welcome.
