If I were a Guardsman in the situation that they are in,

I was once a Guardsman in a civil disturbance. Quiet is calming except for steady radio chatter.

Please explain why 'post 2000' freepers are any less important than pre '2000'?

Hey take it easy on these Deps! There are no old ladies to rough up. They got to release that energy some way!

Tell me WTF did you think was going to happen to the pets after they forced the owners off?? What do you think is going to happen to the ones that the "animal rescue" organizations pick up? You can't be that far in denial.

The video is sickening and disgusting but it is what happens in a police state - you don't seem to have a problem with the rest of it - get used to this part.

"If they have no problem with aborting babies, why should killing dogs bother them? Another example of Democratic leadership."

Bingo. You nailed it. Liberal maggots will kill their own grandmothers if it guarantees them power.

"Someone needs to alert D.U. to this, it's enough to make them vote conservative."

Lol, if only that were true. But do we really need mentally unbalanced people on our side?

DUmmie turned FReeper "Blanco and Nagi used a weather machine to create Katrina so they can blame Bush and make Republicans look bad! Ted Kennedy drinks the fermented blood of puppies while Hillary bites children's heads off!"

Actually, the Hillary thing is quite plausible...

Because they don't have a CLUE what the constitution is and readily support ignoring and trashing it when it suits their means. (As a general rule that is.)

Lots of animal rights types at DU. Vote Republican: the Party that won't shoot your dog.

Well, actually that is where you are wrong. A liberal mentality would put killing of animals as murder, while a conservative mentality would know that the animals are meaningles when talking about equality with human life. PETA is a fine example of equating animal life with human life.

Believe me I am well aware there are plenty of freepers who understand the Constitution. There are many who don't - just look at the gun seizure threads. You will notice a lot of loudmouths around here aren't there.

The poor dogs on this thread break my heart but it doesn't begin to touch what I feel about the law enforcement excesses

Here's a little different slant on pets in emergency situations.

I love my dog and cat. I donated to pet relief before donating to human relief.

I would do anything possible to take them with me in a rescue situation.

BUT, if I absolutely could not take them, I would shoot them before I left. I would not leave them on their own.

And I'm supposed to believe ~you're~ the one who's thinking clearly? You're just shooting wildly into the crowd now.

If you can get close enough to a stranded and starving dog to take a clean shot-why can't you try and rescue it ?

Bingo. I have nothing against having to shoot dogs that refuse to be caught or helped (it's still sad, but necessary under the circumstances). However, most of the stranded dogs will happily come to anyone who offers them food or even a kind word. Those should be rescued whenever possible.

But I get the impression that in some areas, even a tail-wagging dog voluntarily approaching the authorities without the slightest difficulty, will still be gunned down. And that just isn't right.

I was just thinking the same thing. What's wrong with the local officials Louisiana? Are they all just plumb crazy?

Maybe serpenthead is normal by Louisianan standards.

I totally agree. There is so much BS being spoonfed right now and more than enough people standing in line for their helping.

Is there something in the water down there that makes state and local officials nuts?

I'll never set foot in Louisiana.

This whole thing down there is beyond belief.
