Even though it was rough going at first and we had our fair share of poking fun at him I'm Impressed the man has a heart and guts to match.
It's easy to sit here on my butt and critique but gotta give credit where credits due sean's proven to be more than just a hack he actually cares i think !

He even has his own entourage.

Sean Penn is one DUmmy we all can love, he separates himself from the other DUmmies by taking action.

Douglas Brinkley was with him, and now I see why. Sean had the foresight to take a "historian" with him.
No doubt Brinkley will now write a book glorifying Penn, much like his abysmal book about John F. Kerry. By the time he's done, Sean Penn will be transformed into a larger-than-life hero.
Ugh.

I was gonna go to New Orleans and rescue some people and maybe some kitty cats or something, but my "personal photographer" was busy doing a wedding that day, so I just stayed home and had another glass of chardonnay out of respect for the "victims".

Why did they let him in with his boat? They turned hundreds of boats around that tried to come in to help people.

I wonder if the personal photographer that accompanied him got out and waded in the muck with him?

Right, because as we all know, Doug Brinkley has a *spotless* record for honesty and truth..

They were only letting special "movie star" "leaky boats" in that day.

despite finding and having to deal with a hole in his boat last week. Finding a hole in his boat?
His application to brain surgery class is in the mail.

you're absolutely right. fine, he went down there but when you go with a photographer and an historian, hmm, i wonder WHY you are going.
is it about the people or is it about himself? and whose fault is it the national guard wasn't in there yet.
double ugh.

His talk is despicable but his actions are admirable.
That said, as an amateur doing search and rescue he may have put more lives risk than if they waited for the pros. Witnessing his total lack of seamanship in not securing the drain and then having nothing more than a beer cup available to bail with.
To: ATOMIC_PUNK
If I needed to be rescued, and Sean Penn came to help, I would take my chances and tell the traitor to get ****ed.

Why is he the only crew member wearing a bullet-proof vest?
Penn said on Larry King that he helped for nine hours. Why did he stop? Didn't more people need rescuing, or he didn't want to be late for his Larry King appearance? Sounds to me like he went there for his photo opp, them left.
