All I want to know is, what does Jude Law think? He's one of America's treasures and I'm sure he'll get Sean's back (Jude owes him one from the Oscars).

Which is the real photo? Post 29 and yours are clearly different.

...rescued up to 40 people... What's the low end estimate, being rescued himself?
Sean Penn, Captain of the high sleaze...

Ask yourself this...how many professors do you know that own a bass boat? How many professors do you know that own a poontoon boat? How many professors...in general...own any kind of boat? These geeks don't buy stuff like that or get into river travel. These guys go off on trips to Crotia and dig up bones or study left-handed people for alcoholism. Something about this story just doesn't smell right.

That boat belonged to a "reporter"(Nic Robertson) from CNN!
Nic Robertson is a senior international correspondent based in CNN's London bureau. He flew back to New Orleans to cover Katrina.

You're kidding right? I thought the second photo was some great photo editing, gave me a good laugh. By the way, the second photo has a mountain or volcano in the background...not many of them in southern Louisiana.
Great job, guitarnick40.

Professor of what, blithering idiocy? Jeez, did all you guys sleep through 2004? Doug Brinkley is the lefty history prof who wrote Kerry's fanciful "Christmas in Cambodia" campaign hagiography, "Tour of Duty."
He's a hack's hack. He was a protegé of Eisenhower Center founder, popular historian, and serial plagiarist Stephen Ambrose. (He's not his equal in writing skill, and no one has accused him of plagiarism that I know of).
Brinkley admires Hunter S. Thompson (died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound) and Jack Kerouac (whose service to the country amounted to, I believe nine days in the Navy, most of which was spent in the booby hatch). Kerouac was bisexual, in and out of jail, and drank himself to death on Thunderbird in his forties; his writing was certainly original, but that's not the same thing as saying it was good. Oddly enough, this dissolute wastrel who is a poster child for today's liberal Democrats was a conservative, although I doubt he ever voted.
These are Doug Brinkley's heros. If they were mine I, too, would be hanging out with Sean Penn.

Mine is the joke, but that picture was the only one I could find with 40 refugees like Spicoli claims he saved, cause there sure arent any real ones of him doing it!

The boat looks like it is made out of wicker. No wonder he had to bail.

First reports said he had pulled the plug to drain the boat prior to launching it and had forgotten to put it back Or perhaps in a demonstration of his complete stupidity he pulled the plug while the boat was in the water, believing gravity would pull the water out of the boat.

I knew yours was doctored and it looked good. I was wondering if panaxanax thought it was real.

OK, to recap:
Sean Penn says his boat was full of refugees, but the photos show him, Taibbi, and one other schmo we don't see completely, presumably Brinkley.
The facts we know:
- He was surrounded by media of all kinds.
- The media (left-wing Nic Robertson of left-wing network CNN) provided the boat.
- He took this about fourteen foot boat and put in these people:
- A columnist.
- A "historian" who has no qualms about writing false "history" to advance a political agenda.
- His ownself.
- What he didn't put in the boat:
- any supplies for rescue-ees (like fresh water).
- any equipment for rescue-ing (like ladders, life jackets)
- the drain plug
- anyone who knows how to handle a boat. QED.
- The guy who saw 40 refugees is the same guy who saw the nonexistent magic hat from the nonexistent Cambodia trip he wrote about, even though he had the diaries that contradicted what he was writing and he had to know it was false. That he was lying then isn't proof he's lying now, but it tells you useful stuff about his character and motivations.
- Penn's defence: "the boat didn't sink," it just swamped. Well, he's assuming that everyone else knows as little about boats as he. Boats today have flotation material in them. They can't sink unless busted up or submerged so long the floatation stuff gets waterlogged.
Did I leave anything out? Maybe a limerick:
There once was an actor named Penn One man with the ego of ten He left out the plug His boat went glug glug For the cameras, he'd do it again!

Sean Penn took a ride in a boat, Seeking refuguees he could then tote,
Yet he never got 'round,
'Cause his boat, she went down,
It's a good thing his ego can float.
OK, not as good as yours, but I'll work at it. See? You're inspiring people even at this hour...

Sean Penn has a few leaks.........
To: Cougar66
Isn't Brinkley the one who went back and rewrote some of Kerry's biography. Now he can rewrite Penn's misadventure. The New Hollywood Revisionism - make a complete a$$ out of yourself and then use every outlet to change the story.
