Brinkley, a professor at New Orleans' own Tulane University who accompanied Penn on his voyage through the under-water city, was among the first to denounce the report. "There was never a leak," he said in the Daily News. On Larry King Live, Penn concurred: "The boat never sank."
According to Brinkley, the boat did take on water--because it was "overloaded" with storm survivors. According to Penn, his "entourage" consisted of "a couple of friends." (The actor's camp denied the existence of the "personal photographer.

"I witnessed him rescuing up to 40 people,"
If he rescued no one, it would still be "up to 40 people". I'm curious, if there was no personal photographer, where does the photo of him bailing out the boat come from?

Hey, those are his peeps. Don't dis 'em.
First reports said he had pulled the plug to drain the boat prior to launching it and had forgotten to put it back. This report is the first of its kind and differs greatly from the others. Who are you going to believe, the Hollywood loving media or his peeps? Tough choice.

It didn't look like too many survivors were on that boat to me. I guess the photographer picked a lousy time to start taking pictures if anything this professor says is true.

They had to drag a freaking professor out to say that his boat didn't sink? Do lefties have to resort to professors for EVERYTHING?!?
You know all of this is going to wind up being in Team America 2!
According to Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone mag, who was also on the boat, an evacuee knocked the plug out of the boat. So which is it? Overloaded or kicked out? Wasnt Taiibi also part of a nother bog story not topo long ago? Besides the Sheehan story that is.

Which now demands the question, if you're launching a boat to pick up survivors, why do you already have some? Just in case you didn't find any?

Doug Brinkley is the same guy who wrote John F Kerry's autobiography which introduced us all to the "magic Hat."
