I know some Army Reserve Generals who have falsified their resumes, said they were college grads when they are not. Should never have been promoted to Major in Army without degree. Reserve promotion system is broken.

And yet, I've been getting hammered here today by people who seem to think that W is some sort of marionette of the MSM, and that he's "giving into the lefties." Indeed, Brown has obviously pissed W off big time.

Some people cannot deal with the realities of the rather brutish nature of public life. Brown blew the PR and padded his resume. And since he was already somewhat underqualified, there was simply no choice but to clip his wings publicly. He'll be outta there before Christmas, is my bet.

Tisk Tisk Tisk. You can not have it both ways.
Is congress a rubber stamp or do they have a role? If they are a rubber stamp then they are not needed. If they have a role they should do it.
For some, it appears, the role depends on who holds congress and who holds the White house.
For me, I try to hold the same view no matter who holds what. It's hard and sometimes I fail but I keep trying.

Sure Congress has a role. But if someone who is not top-notch is nominated to a position, they will acquiesce to the President's perogative, unless the shortcomings are glaring. Private corporations spend huge amounts of time and money searching for top talent for management positions. Is it unreasonable for government to do the same, when they are responsible for OUR money, safety, and ultimately our country?

Not necessarily. I'm no fan of Brown and I think he should 'spend more time with his family.' But in Rove's news management strategy, this may just be the rope-a-dope, luring the media and the Dims in for the knockout after they wear themselves into a frenzy, having become overconfident by landing a few puny jabs.
I still think Brown will suddenly feel the urge for private sector employment. One call from Bush or Cheney is all it would take. But with Brown out of the way now, it will leave the path open for the axe to fall where it most belongs: on Blanco and Nagin who just happen to be Democrats.
Rove is no doubt in full political mode on this one. And the fat lady should be expected to sing before too long...

I think Joe Albaugh vouched for Brown....if so, Albaugh should be toast as well! Actually I never trusted Joe Albaugh to do a good job either.

"He may have been an adjunct instructor"
I know nothing of the facts here but I do know there are tons of people who teach at colleges and universities and many are called adjunct professors. Terms like instructor are often used to describe graduate teaching assistants. Sounds like Johnson doesn't have any facts either.

From what I understand Albaugh did vouch for him much like Guiliani vouched for his guy at Homeland security.
BTW, did you see where the State of Louisiana apparently hired Guiliani's disaster recovery company?

Thanks. I saw it on FOX, too. None of us can know HOW to handle something until it happens. This was overwhelming. M
